Better integration of assets from all packs

A couple areas where I’ve noticed various assets aren’t properly integrated, and it really makes the game feel stale:

- At bars, sims autonomously order only a couple different drinks. Why? There are so many to choose from so it feels really boring to be limited to a couple options.

- Harvestables sold on the Eco Lifestyle sales tables - I’ve noticed that the Cottage Living produce is never sold this way (blueberries, raspberries, etc.)

- ***The San Myshuno Flea Market only sells a small portion of the furniture in the game - this is so sad since it would be really cool if you could go there to browse more furniture options (chairs, sofas, lamps etc.). But with the current setup I rarely visit the flea market because it’s rather boring.

- The toy gifts in the mail for a child’s birthday don’t seem to include the toys from newer packs, another missed opportunity.

I think improving these pack integrations would be relatively easy and, though small, would help to make the game a bit more interesting. Also, it would be an incentive to buy more packs, if all the items/features were better integrated into the game!

  • speaking of the Flea Market, I wish Sims could trade collectibles other than ones from the base game and City Living. you can't even trade for any of the added crystals and stuff from Get to Work!

Most of your issues is because you can not be sure that a player would have the necessary packs installed. So only basegame or items from the same pack can be used.

@jpkarlsenExpansion packs are supposed to *expand* the game. 40$ per pack is way too much to pay to not have the assets incorporated into the entire game wherever possible.

I’m not sure if you work for the sims team, but if that’s the attitude of the developers I’m extremely disappointed. For this amount of money they can certainly code the game so certain assets appear in certain situations *if you have the necessary packs*. And yes, they can be sure which packs a player has installed, it’s literally there in the code. All they have to do is tag a wide variety of assets to appear in certain situations such as what I mentioned above, and if the player doesn’t have the necessary pack it obviously won’t be in the game.

I also wanted to mention an example of good pack integration that I really enjoy in the game: plopsy, which includes cross-stitch hoops from Cottage Living and candles from Eco Lifestyle, for example. I wish more aspects of gameplay were done this well!

@lucombre Totally agree! I would love to see more pack integration, which would make the whole game feel more inclusive, and while there may be some constraints (and I don't claim to be an expert or anything), I agree it seems entirely feasible to be able to flag add-on options for most instances for any players who happen to own the packs without compromising integrity for base game players.

@Moozilla13 I absolutely hope clubs will be refreshed soon, as this is another way that packs were successfully integrated, however, newer activities/traits/etc are not always included.

Eco Lifestyle is also a good example. While dumpster diving you can find stuff from all the packs you have.

And I absolutely agree that the flea market would be way more interesting with more diverse things. Especially since the basegame items are rather meh compared to most pack items.

My Sims kids never get the toys from the mailbox, I sell them instantly because it's only the ugly items. So that would be a nice improvement as well.

@lucombre , I agree!🙌 Especially with the Flea Market, since it is the same items over and over , and the wall with the paintings that were supposed to be included hasn't worked in years! 😥
The idea of the Flea Market was to get some rarer items such as metals/gems and MySims statues, which still can be found at the Flea Market, but it would also be nice to get things like the items that you can create in Eco Lifestyle, for example, or the cross stitch items from Cottage Living -- or anything that either takes time make yourself, or else is harder to get in the game.

But you are correct on all of these points you make, not just the Flea Market one. It is harder to implement but seems like wasted potential since we now have an abundance of items that could be used in all of these situations!
