Blast from the past event disrupting gameplay

The new blast from the past events appears as a pop-up in every game you load (presumably also the worlds you start from scratch).

It is immensely upsetting, uncomfortable and annoying that you can no longer play your own stories or build worlds without this pop-up/tab cluttering the left corner.

Even worse, is that this pop up will expand itself when you enter a new area. There should be a way to delete this tab or enable a setting that disables events. 

I would have wanted to try the challenge/event in it's own seperate game, at the right time. But now I deeply dislike it and lost interest because it has only been a big nuisance disturbing my current active games.
