Bonus Preorder Items

I’m wondering if the sims team ever considered releasing the pre-order bonus content for people who might have missed being able to preorder certain packs. for instance, i wasn’t playing sims when high school years came out, but the preorder bonuses are really cool. if they released them as like $0.99 packs several months after the packs released, so they could still get their preorders but others could have the items too, i’m sure there are people who missed the boat and would buy ones they’re interested in.

  • @CTLivernois that's a good idea. With some packs I waited a while to add them. So I probably missed out on a few preorder items. I only added High School Years last year so I didn't get that one either.

I'd certainly pay a little fee for them.

I would definitely be interested in this option. I wasn't able to buy horse ranch within the first month for personal reasons, even if I was already an active player at the moment. I would appreciate a second chance for those items.

I loathe bonus items. If EA wants to keep them, fine — but make them early access content, not permanently exclusive. People who want to buy at release still get the item early, but after X amount of time, release them as a free download drop for anyone who owns the pack they came with, maybe timed to when the pack first goes on sale. The Conch Street Aquarium fish tank is a perfect example of an item that should've come back around by now. And if you do this, please release ALL past bonus items too.

Bonus items also make sharing content on the gallery a nightmare. I love watching Twitch simmers, and streamers sometimes tour people's builds. Most streamers own all the content — but if they missed a bonus item due to life events, that item just won't show up in the build they're touring. Same problem with event items.

If someone can't buy content during a narrow window b/c they're broke or life got in the way, it's not fair to gatekeep those items forever. This is one of the reasons I've stopped buying new content entirely. Please stop this madness — it might even make fewer people hack the game to unlock things. I was almost going to buy new content today and I wanted that fish tank, but I can't get it, so I'll hold off on buying new content.
