I haaaate Wants and Fears. I loved whims. They felt like my sims nudging gently in the direction they wanted their life to go and it was so relevant to their personalities. Wants and fears seem pointless, irrelevant and just downright annoying. Be outside for 8 hours? What if my sim has to WORK or cook for his kids because he's an only father living in an APARTMENT. It's pointless. I have turned it off and that is sad because now I feel like my sims have no input of their own, but it's better than the fears popping up every 5 seconds because of stupid things I have no choice in.
I've been playing The Sims franchise for literally 20 years. This is the worst thing that has ever happened to the game (aside from the initial Wedding Stories mess).
@LuxeLatte I agree some much with everything you said. I loved my sims having a little bit of input and a quick way to get aspiration points. I also liked how one the whims was based on the emotions so that you could feel like that was an impulse your sim was having right now
