It’s Dec 2019 and this is still a issue for me. Has it been fixed for everyone but me?

@Rtega80 It's by design .. so working as intended and not a bug.

I actually take advantage of this feature.
I created an old 1 BR 1 BA fisherman's shack on an empty residential lot in Brindleton Bay and re-designated the lot as Generic. My Sim resides in Willow Creek but she is able to travel to this cabin for overnight or multiple day visits, eat, sleep, cook, use the bathroom facilities, etc. I mainly used Build/Buy items from Outdoor Retreat to give it a rustic feel. It's sort of like having an unofficial vacation cabin. My Sim is able to invite others to this cabin and they will show up and even stay overnight, but no other random NPCs will enter the lot. I have a similar Generic lot I made in Windenburg (the Mid NoWhere lot) that is just a campsite with some landscaping and a fire pit. My Sim can place all of her OR camping gear, sleep overnight, use the fire pit, etc., without having to worry about random NPCs trying to use her tent.
I plan on creating a similar Generic lot in Sulani as soon as I add Island Living.
I know I am getting a little off topic here, but I just wanted to point out some advantages of having Generic lots as they are & ways to enjoy them in game-play.
- @Rtega80 It’s July 2020 for me and it’s still happening for me :/
- @RandomBuzziness That's a really nice tip, thanks 🙂 Definitely going in my game! +1
- @chilling_scorpio , as is stated above and in the title of thread, it is not a bug. It's that way by design. See post #21
- _-orso-woxo-_2 years agoSeasoned Rookie@canelacaliente If this is indeed by design, I hope that the tool tip can be more specific about what these appearing "visitors" refer to in a future update. Aliens? I kid. 🙂
