All these ideas seem very interesting. I've been reading a lot about cars in recent weeks, because it's becoming more and more possible for producers to be thinking about them. Thinking about it, I have put together the best ideas, which are very possible if we give due importance to this.
Here's the list:
- Cars with enter, exit, driving animations, and other activities, as in The Sims 2. Since the cars of this generation would not be focused on roads like The Sims 3, we want REAL activities and animations. It would not make sense to add vehicles to which the sims disappear before entering in the car and appears back on the other lot. I hope they add this animation to the elevators. :(
-Alternative transport: Bicycles (children, teens and adults), motorcycles, buses (with functional bus stops by the cities, as well as fishing spots), police car (this is very important for the following topics) and taxis. All with animations.
- Functional gas stations. It would work in much the same way as fishing spots, each city has its own gas station style.. It would not necessarily be a separate lot. But, if it is the case need that, it will also be very interesting and rewarding for the creators. We could modify it to our style, add lot traces, and who knows, even a small convenience store.
- Shops and restaurants with parking. Our sim would arrive in the lot parking your car (with animation). In case of restaurants, a drive-thru option could be added too. (Dine out package) Apartments will have their own underground parking. It can be accessed by the elevator.
- Fines. New role for the police career, which may surprise the Sims by parking their cars. Driving after drinking a lot of drinks in the bar, driving as a teenager, driving with irresponsibility in traffic (Interaction with the Parenthood package) and depending on the number of points accumulated in your driver's license, you could be invited to make a "visit" at the police station. (With the Get to Work)
- Teens would "borrow" family cars and reduce their points of responsibility. (With the Parenthood package)
- New trait: vehicle enthusiast. With more chances to succeed when modifying or adding improvements in your car. Satisfaction when driving or buying new car or motorcycle.
- Drive-in cinemas on the special lots. Like the Ruins of the "Get Together" package. (Maybe needs "Movie Hangout" stuff). With a beautiful and relaxing view for romantic sims.
-New mechanical interaction with cars and motorcycles. Maybe an active career around it, with its point of work in workshops or gas stations.
- A new city with open and functional roads for true lovers of raves and races. (Fast and Furious!!) Several places for car enthusiasts and party clubs. Have a chance to convince a Sim to do Woohoo in the car during a date OR go with you home in your vehicle at the end of the meeting.
- New interactions while driving. (Maybe just possible in a new city.) You could try to impress someone, make radical maneuvers (and take the risk of taking fines), pose while driving to show off, etc...
- IMPORTANT:
I know that many of these ideas are a little complex to fit into a single game package. If they were implemented, they would interact with many other in-game packages and might need to be an expansion pack to make it work. (And I'd be glad if they did) But it's important for developers to know that we do not want cars just for locomotion . We want to incorporate a new way of life for our Sims and many new gameplay interactions. If possible, even extend a few more Sims' cities to integrate more of that content. We want realistic gameplay. We do not mind waiting a little longer, we want it to be a cool content that really changes the way we play The Sims 4. I hope some SimGuru will see this publication and pass it on to the superiors.
