I sometimes don't 'get' Sims fashion. I don't mind some skin showing clothing, but sometimes it is overly "clubbing" clothing (tanks, halters, super short skirts/dresses, etc.). Even in Sims 3 I was in love with a three piece long sleeve top (dress shirt, vest and jacket (included pocket watch)) and pencil skirt with top frill, I had my female Sim wear as her main outfit for the longest time. I swear I didn't really start get into more outfits till I started buying from the Sims 3 store (and mostly themed Victorian/Steampunk). And Sims 3 has Create-a-Style.
For Sims 4 I remember trying to dress two female senior Sims, and I had to use a lot of duplicate outfits (I don't have every pack though), or else they kinda looked trashy wearing 'young people' clothing. It is even harder if you are trying to theme your game (by region/culture, era or fantasy/sci-fi/occult), occult wear is nice but obvious split to the occult 'in mind', and needs to be expanded and more children/elder items.
