Changes in the forum and the game
If I did not put this in the correct place, please move it.
First off I am not liking this format of the new forums. K.I.S.S.
Second. and my major reason for posting. (dreadfully so) Is this purchase of EA. Been listening to alot of stuff. reading or listen to someone reading. and listening to various opinions.. Since it is all speculation at this point and not an entirely done deal and that it is entirely plausible that the purchase was more for the sports side of EA than the other games. If not then, why not just break it up to the sale of just the sports and leave the rest as it is. This would be my first question. Maybe my only one but we shall see.
I have come and gone from playing the sims4, I have many other games, no EA related, that I play consistently. Sims just itches the building itch that I get once in a while. Now with all this going on, makes me question about my time and money spent. I have stuff mostly , kits, on my wish list that I WAS going to purchase, but with this coming up, I am not sure I will purchase them.
Now I am not complaining about who the buyers are and there is alot of controversy about this , to which I WILL NOT, go into, because if you look at anything you buy deep enough you would not be buying or paying for services you already do. You look deep enough into any company and there will be things you will not like. So, with that being said. My concern is to the privatization of the company. Will there be no more transparency, or even after the project road map is completed, will new content slow up, or become many micro transactions. As to the transparency now we are not told what the stipulations are. There are many unanswered questions. Now this is not a done deal, with the sale, there are things other than price that needs or needed to be negotiated about, and so the sale could still fall through and it will remain a public company. I believe they are and will be in negotiates up until the possible sale of EA.
Each of us has to make our own decision about this. This is our time and our money. Who I feel will have the most difficult times are the YouTube content creators, since Sims is their livelihood. Would the rules concerning the Sims change for them? If so, how?
For me right now there are too many Unknowns to make any more purchases, since this affects and effects so much more than just the company it self. So I am considering making room on my hard drive, for another game. I will tuck away my folders on an external drive, for my stories, gallery etc...in hopes, maybe of redownloading it.
To EA.
Why the sale?
What will happen to the content creators?
Will there be more paywalls or micro purchases?
Are there negations points in this buyers deal for Sims4 and if so what are they.
When are we, or will we get more information on this deal? Or is this not part of the transparency?
I may enjoy the Sims4, but, it has come a time to re-evaluate my money and time for this game.
