[BG] CAS Interface and filters

PROBLEM
It takes too much time to find the item you are looking for in the catalog.
The list of packs, stuff, etc. has become too long, and it is expected to be longer over time.

DESIRED SOLUTIONS
a. Custom categories
Add a feature that allows users to create custom categories to group catalog items based on their preferences.
b. Packs filter
Change the way packs are selected from a list with checkboxes to a search bar with a drop-down menu that suggests pack names as the user types, and adds the selected packs in a tag format that allows them to be removed or deselected.
c. Number of items displayed by default
Add a setting that allows the user to choose the number of columns they want in the catalog.

  • There's a feature that I think would help too, if we knew what we'd already used for other Sims in the game and could enable/disable a feature that greyed out CAS items in use. With the full game I'm losing track of hair and clothing that I've already used and to get around that I set a colour palette for each Sim and look through Manage Households at what other Sims are wearing so I don't repeat it. But I've created hundreds of Sims and edited Townies too. If an item in a certain colour was greyed out we'd know someone else was wearing it. I wouldn't want to restrict using it again (that would impact uniforms and Style Influencer trends) but I'd just want to know if it was already being worn.

The problem with your idea is that you will end up having a mostly grayed out catalog. By implementing custom categories, you can assign the items you use when you create a sim to that category.
