Clothes & Frame Update
Most clothing items morph terribly to the opposite frame.
Even if there's not awful mesh distortion, with caved in or weirdly protruding chests/crotches, the textures are always distorted. Shoes turn into weird little hooves. Sometimes the pieces look unisex from the thumbnail (jeans, for instance), and it's not obvious until trying them on that they were absolutely not originally intended to be.
I don't think tweaking the morph map over and over is a good solution. It's too blunt an instrument for the task of making things with very different shapes (baggy clothes are some of the worse offenders) fit a very different frame, and it doesn't solve the stretching or inappropriate textures. Often the normal map or the shadows present in the diffuse texture suggest incorrect anatomy.
- My ideal solution would be changes to the frames themselves. Making it so the male frame can wear high-waisted pants, for instance, so not each pair has to snap down to an acceptably 2000s length.
- Instead of baking breast shadows into textures and normal maps, have them as an overlay that appear when breasts are present (and have the intensity of the shadow scale with the breast slider!) These two are unlikely, I know, but I can dream.
- One thing that will help is proper tagging of all clothing items. All clothing pieces need accurate style, weather, frame, gender, colour, clothing type, and material tags.
- For items severely distorted by the morph map, they need new meshes and textures for the opposite frame or they need to be excluded from use by the opposite frame.
Fixing all the broken pieces would make the game seem so much more polished and open up so many more possibilities. I know it's a slog, but please consider it 😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I would be so happy
