Color Wheels For Hair, Skin, and Eyes

I love how diverse The Sims is with the range of preset colors yo can choose from for ski and hair, but it's still more limited than I would like. I'd enjoy if we could choose precisely what color we want our Sims' skin, hair, and eyes to be. Especially with aliens, the skin options aren't very diverse.

And some of the eye colors for human Sims aren't that different from each other. I can barely tell the difference between the three hazel eye colors, but the biggest ones are the green (two of them) and blue eyes. I can barely see the difference to the point where I question why they even added two swatches of them if there's hardly a difference.

The hair one especially is annoying to me too. The "white" hair swatch is more gray on most hairs. The "dye" colors are either too vibrant or not vibrant enough. Or there just aren't enough shades. My biggest one is the "purple" hair swatch. That's not purple, that's pastel.

The darker skin tones also need darker hairs and makeup to go with them. My Sim would be super dark and it'd look great, but then the hair would be completely off and fake-looking because it wasn't dark enough. (I tried both black swatches of hair and neither worked.)

There also isn't a good strawberry blonde hair color. Which is crazy. 5-7 shades of blonde and 3 shades of red and not a single red-gold hair. Which is the most common red hair I've seen irl.

So many of skin colors are still...weird. Either too grey or too red or too yellow. It is so much better than it used to  be. But I forgot how weird the swatches are when I remove my Mods Folder.

  • Color wheels for hair, skintones and eyes would be a dream come true. There are so many different people, it's impossible to have them all represented in CAS. You could do it for make, please allow it for the sims bodyparts as well.

Even as an event reward they added new swatch for eyes. So they can easily add new eye colors.

True we need strawbery blonde, ashy brown, light copper, dirty blonde, golden blonde, ash blonde, caramel brown, black-brown, sand blonde hair

  • I’d really love to see more variety in white hair options, like silver with a hint of lilac and such! Plus, I totally agree that we need more color variations for natural hair. There are so many gorgeous shades of ginger, black, and brown out there, so it feels like the current choices are pretty limiting. And let’s talk about skin tones—some of them have the oddest undertones! I really don’t want my sim looking grey or orange! It would be awesome if they could give us better natural skin tones, and the same goes for unnatural ones. The current selection feels very restricted, and I think it really holds back our creativity.

  • Before how buggy and glitched the game has unfortunately become, I have been wary of the thought of the color wheel in any capacity. The thought of one being added now makes me fear the game will break for an ever greater scale of players. I do think that there could/should be an option for it. For those who desperately desire a color wheel option, perhaps a reasonably priced digital download add on could be made - hey, they did that Digital Deluxe version for the game long ago with certain add-ons.

For the standard, though... I'd feel more comfortable if they tried to introduce the sliders that they have for makeup to hair, eyes and skin tones. I could be wrong, but the sliders seem like they would demand less on a computer than a full color wheel since the color range is set to the shades, saturations of a single selected color. With the makeup slider, I don't feel scared of my game freezing and needing to hard shutdown so far. I think if they went that route, there would actually be less set color swatches needed. A single gray swatch would be easy to manipulate to span from various shade of black to white. This would likely make it so the game would only need one base red swatch, one base blonde/yellow swatch and one base brown swatch rather than multiples when it comes to hair. There would likely be just one base green and base blue for eyes.

Still, I'm not sure what would actually be less taxing on a computer in the long run among the two. As it goes, the game only has color sliders applied to make up. If they were applied to hairs, eyes and skin tones as well, would the slider method be just as taxing as a color wheel in the end? 🤔

I just want the game to run without requiring an extremely high end gaming computer.

True sliders are better instead of color wheel

i also want a deep violet hair. so, a dark purple with pink/red tones. and a dark purple with blue tones.

and i wish we had a custom streak creator. the same format as the stencils for tattoos and pet fur. i want to put my streaks where i want. i just want dark hair and a single white streak.

  • I want the ability to change the color of hair accessories at least, or to be able to independently choose the color of sections, like with the split-dyed hairs. Also more weird hair colors, like a proper darker purple and a lighter blue or green.
