The Sims 4 Zodiac Traits

Make it Zodiac Traits and Acquired Traits. The followings specifically refer to Zodiac Traits. For The 48 Periods, please refer to Personology (by Gary Goldschneider).

The 48-Traits Edition
Make it three groups of traits: Sun Traits, Moon Traits, Rising Traits. There are the same 48 traits in all of the groups. Since the season is for 7 days and the moon phase cycle is for 8 days in The Sims 4, make each Sun Trait advance once every 14 hours, each Moon Trait advance once every 4 hours, each Rising Trait advance once every 30 minutes in the time system. When a Sim is born, he or she could have three different, or two same and one different, or three same traits. If a Sim has three same traits, then this type of trait of him or her is strong, and so on. Astrologers can give Sims good blind dates or bad ones.

There are three sets of 48 types of actions for Sims. The first set is for Sims who have three different traits, and they have three types of actions from this set according to what traits they have. The actions in the first set are weak. The second set is for Sims who have two same and one different traits, and they have two types of actions from this and the first set according to what traits they have. The actions in the second set are average. The third set is for Sims who have three same traits, and they have only one type of action from this set according to what traits they have. The actions in the third set are strong.

The 336-Traits Edition
Make it two groups of traits: Sun Traits, Moon Traits. There are the same 336 traits in both of the groups. Make the moon phase cycle be also 7 days, just like the season in The Sims 4. Since 28÷336×24=2 and 7÷336×24×60=30, make each Sun Trait advance once every 2 hours, each Moon Trait advance once every 30 minutes in the time system. As for the 336 traits, we can refer to the 366 traits from The Secret Language of BIRTHDAYS by Gary Goldschneider & Joost Elffers, just selecting the traits from the first 28 days of each month.

Please choose the better edition which you think. 🙂

Alchemists can change objects into coins or into trash. A small-sized bronze coin is for 1 simoleon, silver coin for 5 simoleons, gold coin for 10 simoleons; a medium-sized bronze coin is for 50 simoleons, silver coin for 100 simoleons, gold coin for 500 simoleons; a large-sized bronze coin is for 1,000 simoleons, silver coin for 5,000 simoleons, gold coin for 10,000 simoleons. Sims can pick up coins from the ground and deposit them in a bank, a piggy bank, and a strong box. When Sims are going to use simoleons in African, European, Asian cities, they must change them into African, European, Asian dollars. The exchange rate fluctuates every day.

This seems way too complicated for the Sims lol. But I think the general idea is great. We definitely need more astrology/zodiac signs, and corresponding traits that apply to each sign irl would be very cool.

Thank you🙂 If they add astrology, I hope it's ancient Greek astrology, because it's simpler than the others. It only has Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Rising Sign, not Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

That would be so cool. I love how thought out this is, I really hope they do find a way to incorporate astrology, even if its a watered down version I will take it over nothing. I mean, I know they at least mentioned sims signs in the sims 3. Maybe it was sims 2, but I know its been done before. They could definitely do it again with a few added details. They already have crystals, meditation, herbalism, and now tarot soon. It definitely feels like astrology is missing!

  • With how the Zodiac signs worked in Sims 2, I am a bit wary of them in terms of limitations. (At least for those who care for storytelling gameplay or creating Sims of beloved characters.) IRL Zodiac signs are fairly broad where almost anyone can find something in their sign that actually correlates to them. In the Sims, to make the signs have actual relevance there were more specifics and thus limitations. Each sign fell into having a specific range of personality traits. In turn, if you were creating a self Sim or a Sim of a real person, their sign could quite often not match up with real life or at least not with how you perceived them.  I always disliked how my sign was presented because a lot of the traits weren't me at all. I laughed at some of the stats of signs regarding people I knew. Yes, I know that some traits are "givens" for the sign, but it was so stereotyped.

The other thing about how Zodiac signs were used was via attraction. Again, it makes sense considering how it is actually used by people to feel out if they could be compatible with someone else. Nevertheless, with the game, if you had two Sims you were set on being together, they could not have the same Zodiac sign. Attraction was not possible for them. Then there was the rest of the system that went into the concept of how certain signs are more compatible and less compatible with each other. That is great for a player just going with the flow, doesn't care to interfere much with their Sims' lives, likes to observe what happens and hopes for some chaos. It is not so great when a player is trying to relive, recreate or create a "new chapter" based on people they know IRL or fictional characters they like.

As it goes, you can just ignore the sign as an actual representation and consider it a silly label rather than actual representation. Flexibility is often a good thing. Nevertheless, what is the point of using the signs as indicators then?

I wouldn't mind the Zodiac signs coming to play as long as they don't create roadblocks. If they affect attraction to some degree, okay... but don't make it impossible for Sims with "grossly incompatible" signs near impossible to be together or Sims with the same sign have no possible attraction for one another.

I agree with anova1147, too complicated of programing!  ......................................No offense intended to anyone, but this content in any pack would totally turn me away!!!  Prefer a to play in an peaceful world, as boring as it may seem to many, however, everyone liking each other and getting along nicely together, helping each other,  is not only a world that does not exist on this planet,

,....it is very challenging to achieve this loving, caring, fun, drama free world, in my game!
