Today when I fed my cowplant a scared Sim surprisingly it produced the essence of daze, then I realized that I never saw Waylon from L&D selling a scared essence either. Did the devs forget to add the correct essence when they added a new emotion in the game?
NoahLGP yeah they never updated any emotion related gameplay prior to its introduction, which is kinda funny when you remember emotions were supposed to be Sims 4’s big sell point lmao. Anyway the Cowplant thing makes me suspect that the scared emotion was just a half assed attempt at reskinning existing daze emotion and since it’s a base game update it received subpar attention than new features from paid DLCs…
Scared emotion was updated by January 21st, 2021 update but Maxis never updated 2014 Cowplant to include it as an essence.
So this has been move to feedback… you’d think the game giving you the wrong item should be a bug or at least an oversight. Anyway since it’s already been moved here I might as well add some other missing gameplay related to scared emotion (someone else has made another post on scared paintings so I’ll not repeat it here).:
Snowy Escape has an emotional mindfulness feature that lets you surge any emotions you want except for sleeping, possessed (both make sense) and scared.
I know both pack came before they introduced scared emotions but it’s not unprecedented to retroactively add new things to old features, e.g. new crystals from Crystal Creations have their unique effects on Celestial Crystal Crown from GF and can also be refined to be put onto JA relics.
