I think parrots simply didn't fit the aesthetics of the pack. Too colourful and full of joy.
True, but they could have started with a grey and white bird (cockatoo?). Real joyful and colorful larger parrots might need a longer tail, though.
Don't know, maybe a magpie could have been added and it imitates sounds much like a parrot. And it's black too.
