Customizable CAS filters...

What I'm thinking is, if I we could make a folder in the mods folder and name it after a CC creator and then link a CAS filter to that folder.

Create a folder named, "Trillyke" then create a filter in CAS that is named the same and link the two together. When enable the filter would only show the CC from that folder. Then we could have a filter for each creator. A clothing set can have pieces in different categories, so this would make finding them all eaiser.

Also when setting a filter it would be helpful to have an option to apply the filter to all categories instead of having to set the filter for each category.

Where there's a will, there is sometimes a way.

The little batty bat seen in my screenshot is a custom CASMenu category with custom sub-categories that show only my custom items, and also seen in my screenshot is a custom filter that I just figured out how to do. It's all fully functional.

There are two parts to custom filters:

    1. CUSTOM TAGS NEED TO BE ADDED TO EVERY ITEM - Currently, there is no efficient way for simmers to do this. If we could get creators to co-operate with the idea, then they could add these custom TAGS when they're creating their items. Alternatively, if we could get Sims4Studio to co-operate, then maybe we can get a BATCH FIX that allows us to apply a custom TAG to a whole folder of mods the way we can apply a custom DISPLAY INDEX to a whole folder of mods.

    2. CERTAIN TUNINGS NEED TO BE MODIFIED TO CREATE THE CUSTOM FILTERS THAT WILL USE THOSE CUSTOM TAGS - I haven't done the troubleshooting yet in order to verify, but we might only be able to have ONE override containing custom filters at any given time. If true, it means that to have multiple filters, someone would need to maintain ONE override that everyone downloads, and I am more than willing to do this in order to make this dream a reality.

What I can't figure out how to do yet is how to filter for just all custom items or EAxis items. TwistedMexi was working on something once upon a time, but it was paywalled, and I have no idea if it was ever finished. From the preview I saw, there was a custom filter to show or hide EAxis items, similar to how Better BuildBuy's filters work.

As for applying filters to all categories, it's something EAxis would have to do themselves. I am not that knowledgeable in Scale Form GFX coding yet to make this a reality.

  • A system with Tag? that would be huge.

System by folder to  creator name, it would be very restrictive,  in the way people organize their mod and cc i dont have ONE folder by creator for exemple, unless they do only one thing, i have detailled folder and might have up to 5 or more subfolder for one creator depending on the category of the cc or  mod.  this could make big mess but if an option why not.

But the Tag thing now that would be genious. as a cc creator myseld i would and even will start to add those tag no problem for every futur creation

Well, it happened. My "CASFilters" mod is now available with (250) filters in the "INITIAL RELEASE" and more to come.

    Find me Elsweyr.

F.Y.I. These filters only appear if your custom content has the required custom-made unique TAG. I see the full list because I have a test item with every custom TAG added to it.

P.S. Aren't you on my list? "Raven4simS" Yes, yes you are!
