For those are unaware, The Sims 4 is going to be adding Timed Events in the form of daily logins. Think of it as a Fortnite Battle Pass, where if you don't login, you are unable to obtain that item at all (unlocker mods notwithstanding). Not only is this a bad idea, it punishes players that might not have a good/unstable/no internet connection or are unable to play every day.
When you teased free stuff, this is not what many players likely had in mind. Free items should be free, full stop. Free the daily reward items!

I totally agree. Also what if you can’t login for life reasons? I am currently going to a lot of family therapy this week for 6 hours every day and it is absolutely draining. I don’t want to feel obligated to login into something that’s meant to be fun just to get some items.
i think it was utterly ridiculous to promote this as “something big” because so many people are gonna miss out on this or be annoyed by being forced to login when they don’t have time over the next few weeks.
if they really want to reward players who play the game a lot why don’t they make these items unlock based on the number of hours played? The game tracks how long you’ve spent in game and that way it also wouldn’t have to be time limited.
for example: It may take one person a week to get 10 hours and one person a month, but either way both would be able to get the item that unlocks at 10 hours eventually once they’ve played for that long (even if they wait years in between logins or something)- Icestella2 years agoSeasoned Rookie@maddinwritestuff Much better idea!

Not a single person ever asked for this. Sims is starting to feel like means girls... don't log in everyday? not loyal enough player to get all content. Majority of people who play the sims have real lives and jobs that don't revolve completely around the sims. I get the devs work for the sims, but the rest of us don't, and we have no time to log in every single day. But yay the sims YouTubers will be able to show their audiences items we will never get ourselves because we aren't as committed players as they are.
Feeling like a game is punishing you for not playing is, well, sad. Thanks again sims4 for reminding me that the sims is not fun any more, and won't be fun ever again.
- iheartsandwiches2 years agoRising Vanguard@Leopardfire2012 One of the items is a 1x1 Compact Bar that matches the Base Game countertops seamlessly. The only way to get this item will be this reward & it will require players to
1. Know ahead of time this event exists.
2. Actually log in during this event on the specific week it's available.
There is no other way to get a 1x1 bar that matches any Base Game or DLC pack countertops in the Sims 4 without mods. So this really forces console players to log in excessively just to claim a single item. It's honestly really offensive to make players play the game on the company's schedule not on our own. This is a life sim where we go to get away from the things that stress us out, like deadlines, arbitrary rules & corporate nonsense.
They made the Sleepover Sleepwear Set free for only console players who had EA Play for 9 months. I hope they don't login event lock this stuff for another 9 months just because they wanted to goose the metrics. And the pre-order bonuses have never been made free or even available again at a fee. I think it's just wrong and I don't like this business model at all.- 2 years ago
"And this one is for both Desktop and Console players! @loner_cowplant pointed out a brilliant solution to unlock the new Practice Makes Perfect Trait. Simply click the Randomize button on traits in Create A Sim until the reward trait pops out. And for the Build Objects? There’s a solution there too! Use the new “Event Rewards” filter in Build Mode and add any and every color within the filters to have the new Sims 4 Login Rewards show up."

Another bad marketing idea by EA. They noticed we're playing offline more now (after the other bad idea of the 🛒) and they thought adding this feature will bring us back to playing online... sure jan...
TS4 is not a mobile gacha game.
PS: playing offline is the only way (at the moment) to avoid the constant pushing of ads in the game.- EowynCarter2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Agree.
Bad idea. Rollback needed.
If your goal is to kill the game, sure that's the way. If not you're doing it wrong.
Don't get the reward. The only way is their stats showing hardly anyone got these. Then maybe they'll realize and start listening.

I don't get what you have to do, do you literally just start playing your game and some thing will pop up to say you can claim it? is there some thing on the main menu screen you click on or what?

If this "free content" were simply recolors of existing items, I'd still not like it, but I could live with it. But the fact that there are UNIQUE objects, a new dartboard, a 1×1 Bar counter, a basegame minifridge, A TRAIT, locked behind what is essentially a timed paywall is completely unacceptable. I say we don't let up on these forums until they free the rewards.

I have bought every pack and kit thus far. Adding timed events is absolutely ridiculous! I have no internet, due to the area I live in. I'd have to pay 300$ a month for satellite Internet because I live in the middle of NOWHERE. So I use mobile hotspot to update the Sims 4 when needed. And to play Madden with friends. Having to use my hotspot EVERYDAY just to get items, THAT SHOULD JUST BE INCLUDED IN A SDX DROP. Is RIDICULOUS!!! DOES EA REALLY NOT CARE ABOUT ITS PLAYERS!?!? I'm on the verge of giving up on EA. Madden, the Sims 4.....it's just not worth it anymore and it's heartbreaking. I grew up with the Sims franchise.
