Daily Login Rewards are Confusing

It has been a full day since the announcement about login rewards, and I have yet to see the popup or any items in CAS or BB. In fact, when I go to BB, "event rewards" is empty. I logged in yesterday and today, and nothing. Yes, I downloaded the patch. Yes, I took out the few mods I have. 

@Amuni50   With the BB event rewards you also need to click the colour options for the items to show up according to advice from the same topic in the old forums.

Not confusing at all, once you log in it will pop up in the main menu and u click "claim". It's free content instead of having to pay. I Love it, my Legacy sim has already started playing darts with his dad! Can't wait to login tomorrow for the necklace! Can't complain bout free content! They are probably testing it out now to see how it goes, they might have plans to have it in Project Rene. Sure there might be glitches but it can't all be perfect, they try their best to keep us happy!

@Agmtransman The confusing thing is that the popup isn't showing for some, meaning that thy are going to miss the dart board and other things because this thing isn't working.

agreed!  Both my daughter and I checked yesterday and today and nothing has popped up on our games when we logged in!

So, I've never posted or replied to anything on this forum before. But this issue motivated me to post here for the first time. For context, I have an embarrassing number of hours in TS4, and I've been playing since 2016. I have almost every expansion pack and game pack. I've had a lot of patience for issues with the game in the past. But this is a direction that I'm REALLY not happy with.

Here's my reason. I like to post things to the gallery, and I like to download things. I like making things easy to download - choosing a handful of packs to use for any given build. And I appreciate finding builds and households that use only packs that I own (to avoid hairless sims and unusable lots). The gallery is already unfriendly towards downloading compatible builds. It doesn't let you filter by packs owned (the filter that says "packs owned" shows you every build that has at least one of the packs you own, regardless of how many other packs it uses), and the onslaught of kits has made finding builds I can download very impractical.

But that's nothing compared to login rewards. From now on, gallery posts will not only be uploaded with content that I don't own, but also with content that I can NEVER own. At least with the kits, I have the option of buying them if I really want to. Plus, it's very likely that I won't be able to filter these builds out of my searches. I was already discouraged from posting or interacting with the gallery when they removed notifications - making it difficult to tell if someone commented or posted. But this is even more heartbreaking. I like playing the game by myself, but gallery interaction was a huge aspect I really enjoyed.

I don't really care when some other games I play offer limited time rewards (for example, Forza Horizon 5). If I get the rewards, great, but I don't get FOMO when something passes me by. But that game doesn't have a content hub that gets ruined if you don't have every item - like TS4 does. Also, you can get a lot of those items at the virtual auction house if other players want to sell. There are no ways to trade in this game.

I don't plan on claiming any of the daily rewards. I don't care about content that gets locked. And while part of me knows that nothing will change, I really hope that if enough people say something and/or don't utilize the daily rewards, the Sims team will change their minds about this.

You seem not to understand how this works. Since day one there has been locked content in the game. Meaning that the items are in the game just locked. This has always worked fine if you downloaded something with a locked item from the gallery it will still be there and your sims can use it, You are just limited in what you can do with the locked item. You can move it but not copy it and if you delete it you can't get it back.
I hope this relieves your fears of what will happen when you download a locked item from the gallery.

The new decision to lock free content behind limited time events log in requirements is a terrible idea and should be reversed. The idea of further locking content behind limited time gameplay is an even worse idea. 

• It punishes players who are unable to log in during the specific time. There are many reasons why this might be, disabilities which affect people's ability to play, people who don't have a reliable or affordable Internet connection, people who experience life events which stop them being able to play during that specific time frame, future new players who only start playing the game after the event, and players who were simply unaware that such an event was even happening and miss it entirely, to name just a few.
• It is a marketing tactic based entirely on FOMO, which makes the game stressful, rather than fun. It's manipulative, predatory, and disrespectful of the fanbase.
• It makes using the gallery even harder to use than it is now, as any build or sim uploaded with these limited time items will have missing items for any player who was unable to claim them when they were available.
• The talk of further locking items behind gameplay requirements mentioned in the blog post makes the whole idea even worse. Not only does it exacerbate all the existing issues with the idea, but it also completely ignores that there are many different ways people play the sims. Many people only build, others spend all their time in CAS. To lock items from build/buy and CAS behind gameplay will force people to play in a way they don't want and don't enjoy in order to get items that are being offered for free. 
• Sims has always been a game that people play when they want to, often intensely for a time with breaks in between. This is how much of your fanbase interacts with the game. Trying to change that into a model than resembles mobile games will only alienate players. 

This "feature" has made me incredibly angry and upset. I have ADHD and several severe chronic illnesses. My ADHD makes it hard to me to remember to do things at the right time, so having to consistently remember to log in during a limited time frame or miss out on items that have already been installed in my game is infuriating and stressful. On top of this my severe chronic illnesses mean I am often unable to play the sims for months at a time, which will force me to miss out on items that, again, have already been installed in my game and should have been free.

Even without these personal problems, this limited time log in requirement entirely changes the way the game works. Playing becomes a chore that must be done to avoid missing out, which makes me not want to play. But if I don't log in at the right times I will miss out, which makes me not want to play.

This is yet another disappointing marketing ploy from EA which shows a complete lack of understanding and disrespect of their customers. After the addition of the shopping cart icon I have been seriously struggling to be enthusiastic enough to want to play at all. After this I am seriously considering dropping the game entirely.

Do better EA. Respect your customers, don't just treat us as obstacles to making you and your shareholders more money.
