I agree. I don't like this early buyers reward. The items themselves are nice, though rarely essential. But the principle that they are never ever available again really stings. This isn't exactly a cheap game. The grim reapers event that just ended also added items that can't be earned any more once the event finishes .
EA has been doing this for all expansion packs since cottage living. The pack with time limited bones items are
- cottage living
- high school years,
- growing together,
- horse ranch,
- for rent
- Love struck
- life and death
They each have 3 exclusive items. At this moment the ones from life and death are still available.
The sims team changed their sales strategy over the last years. Before cottage living all EP were on sale at half price on origin at the latest half a year after release. Now they take way longer to be 50% off. There is also a flashing shopping cart in the game. To top it all off, there are huge adds that cover your entire screen when you boot up the game. A pop up wasn't big enough, it has to cover the entire screen. Today I was greeted with a such an advert to urge me to buy an EP I already own.
