Suggestion for A Future Update of Sims 4

Hii! :)

I've played sims since Sims 3, and I always thought that the player getting to control the NPC after marriage or moving in together is not a very good feature. Sims 4 is more immersive in my opinion, since it makes NPC ask for marriage and becoming their partner or moving in together when they feel ready for that step themselves, and that feature is awesome in itself, but their personalities kind of vanish once the player gets to control them when they are added to the household. Which is why i suggest maybe make it a choice for the player to control the sim they have in their household or continue making it unplayable, in the way pets are. I just love the fact I don't have to do thing through my pets like it was in sims 3 to keep them happy, in sims 4 I have to pet them and spend time with them to keep them happy and satisfied, all the while they have that free will to do what they please without me messing with their needs or choices. I would gladly see this with a NPC sim that i marry or adds to the household, that I cant mess with its needs or control it if he do something that I dont want him to do at that moment. So a choice to this would have been awesome to add to the game. <3

  • In sims 3 the pets are a playable Sim and that's what we wanted in sims 3.

Edit: sims 4 pets are way more needy then sims 3 because in sims 3 you could play your pet and control their Desires and needs.

Sims 4 doesn't offer this option so you have to adjust your gameplay to fit this option. You shouldn't need a mod for this, but some players don't have time to deal and will use mods..

  • I much prefer the non playable pets in Sims 4. I control all my doggies, farm animal, and horses and I'm perfectly fine with that. I really love taking care of all of them. 😊

That's great. Some simmers including me prefer to have the option to control pets.

You can toggle the option in sims 3 which in my opinion makes it better. 😊

Yeah that's why sims 3 was a downside to me. Once I began playing sims 4 I uninstalled sims 3 all together since sims 4 is more realistic when it comes to pets. I dont particularly enjoy doing all the work keeping their needs up, and pets in sims 4 seem more independent to keep their desires and needs up by themselves, which I'd like to see on npc sims that wants to marry you. At least an option that pops up asking if the player wants to be able controlling the sim that joins the household, or keep it as a non playable. That would be an awesome feature in my opinion.

Exactly! I hope they consider adding a toggle that pops up whenever a npc sim wants to join your household, asking if the player wants it as a playable sim or a non-playable sim. That would have been great! As for the pets, I prefer them as a non-playable sims since its more realistic to me to let them steer their own needs and desires by themselves instead of me having to do all the work.
