Yeah, it may be free stuff, but I still don't want it, I just want that big prompt to never appear again so I can actually enjoy The Sims 4 in peace. Also, the daily rewards are saved to your local drive and not within your account, so it pretty much is pointless to me.
They really need to add an option to opt out of it entirely for those who don't want to partake in this, because I know there are people, especially long time Sims Players, who don't want this.
It actually irritates me even more than that dreaded shopping cart icon that was added in late February 2024, which I don't ever see anymore since I installed a mod to remove it entirely.
Like I said, is The Sims 4 about playing the game or about getting stuff for the game??
@Yuke2001 Perhaps as the events evolve and start to potentially also include quests (as hinted at in the info) then they might add an opt out option for players who don't want to participate. Perhaps also a modder will come up with an opt out button too for PC players like with the shopping basket (which I ignore but am not such a fan of).
But if the pop ups are bothering you then all you can currently do is claim the rewards and that will stop the messages as I mentioned earlier. You only get a few in one week and that's it, at least then it will stop popping up for you... until there's another gift waiting. Or you can wait until the event is over and then it's gone, you'll probably have seen the timer on the home screen too so you'll know how long that is.
The attached FAQ link tells you how to move the reward items to another computer if you are on PC if that's another concern you have.
