Disney World Expansion Pack ???

Imagine bringing the magic of Disney World right into your Sims' lives! Considering a majority of us love fantasy, and it would likely attract more players to The Sims 4, I think it would be amazing if The Sims 4 and Disney World collaborated to create a Disney World expansion pack based on the Disney World in Florida.

This expansion pack could include all four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Epcot. Additionally, it could feature the nearby resorts where your Sims can stay, complete with all the amenities and activities available at Disney World. Imagine being able to bring your little Sim family to Disney World, experiencing iconic rides, meeting beloved Disney characters, and enjoying themed parades and shows.

Not only would this add a magical element to the game, but it could also provide a fun and immersive way for players to explore a virtual version of Disney World. Anywho, just a thought. What do you all think?

Down below, I'll provide a link to the official Disney World Map. This way, you can explore the parks and resorts if you've never been there before, and get a better idea of the magical experience we could bring to The Sims 4.

The kind of money EA would have to pay for this will more than likely be more than they could make on such an expansion.

  • I understand your point about the potential cost, but I think the collaboration could be highly beneficial for both EA and Disney. Such an expansion pack would likely attract not only Sims fans but also Disney enthusiasts. The combined fanbase could generate significant revenue, potentially offsetting the initial investment. Additionally, collaborations between big brands often include marketing partnerships that can help reduce costs and increase visibility for both parties. It's definitely an ambitious idea, but I believe the potential rewards could make it worthwhile.

  • Also, while the cost might be high, EA has a history of successful collaborations, such as with Star Wars and other franchises. These collaborations have brought unique and engaging content to The Sims 4, which has been well-received by players. A Disney World expansion could follow a similar model, offering themed packs or individual content pieces that allow players to customize their experience. Additionally, such a partnership could open doors for future content and cross-promotion opportunities, benefiting both EA and Disney in the long run.

Star Wars lends itself to many different types of games (That is why there are so many Star Wars Games) but Disney World doesn't. So one DLC would be responsible to cover the cost alone where Star Wars have more than 6 games and 1 DLC. So I'm sorry but that is not going to happen.

  • I appreciate your viewpoint, but I think you're underestimating the potential and versatility of a Disney World expansion for The Sims 4. Disney has already successfully integrated Disney World into several games, such as 'Disney Magical World' and 'Disneyland Adventures.' These games have proven that there's a strong market for this kind of content.

Moreover, it's important to remember that neither of us are in charge of EA's finances or decision-making. We don't have the full picture of the potential costs or revenues. EA has shown creativity and innovation in their collaborations before, and a Disney World expansion could offer unique experiences that attract both Sims players and Disney fans. The excitement and engagement such a pack could generate might well justify the investment.

Additionally, we're all here to share ideas about what we, the consumers, want for the game to make it more interesting for us to play. It's about envisioning new possibilities and suggesting what would enhance our gaming experience, not necessarily debating the financial logistics.

Sorry but a few kiddie games on console unrelated to EA isn't going to cut it. They do not get any revenue from them as it is not theirs so can't use it to offset the cost involved with creating it as a DLC but thanks for pointing it out as that is yet another hindrance because if it resembled existing games they could get sued and getting sued by Microsoft or Sony is not something they want.

You are of course welcome to make suggestions I just pointed out why it is unlikely that this will happen.

Journey to Batuu would have been produced under licence from Disney. It wasn't really very well received although does have some great BB items.

Personally I would not want such a real world themed venue in my game. It would be like making a Harry Potter themed pack.
  • The real-life Disney World is a nightmare to navigate. Just imagine how infuriating EA's version would be to walk your sim(s) from Main Street to Frontier Land just to hit Big Thunder Mountain.

Here's how an actual Disney World expansion would go: It would be heavily-reduced in size compared to the real thing. Not just because expansion packs are largely phoned-in, but because Sims 4 days are really short, so exploring anything bigger than a highly-miniaturized version of the magic kingdom would take weeks of in-game time. And that's not even getting to the other parks like Epcot! And if Batuu is any indication, only a handful of attractions would actually be there, and they'd be rabbit holes with maybe one or two CYOA messages per ride.

Then there's the Disney problem. Disney is extremely protective of its IPs. You will not be able to edit the lot whatsoever. All occult powers will be turned off while your sim is there. Romancing and/or fighting Mickey will not be an option. You will not be able to ask Peter Pan to change into his swimsuit. You would not be able to interact with anything in any way unless a bunch of old men in a corporate Disney boardroom explicitly allowed EA to implement it.

It would basically be the Star Wars expansion again, except even more disappointing.
