temerald7667 and jpkarlsen : I usually keep quiet because i don't actually think/believe that EA or anyone really cares about my voice/opinion. Not this time.
I have NO MODS & NO Custom Content! I used to like to play my game. however : I 100% believe temerald!! As for me the last update game caused even more problems but then all of them have. Even adding packs to make availble for purchase, that alone gave me more issues, and I never even bought the pack that the issue provides.
One irony I see with the Feb 27, 2024 update shows this fix :
- Critical fix for mod creators: Mods will sometimes invoke TunableFactory at runtime after tuning load. This causes a None object exception since the expectation was everything happened during the initial tuning load, and it was not expected that dynamically creating tuning at runtime was a thing (outside of tuning reload, in which case we disable the optimization entirely if that is allowed). This change is to make register_for_cleanup method do nothing after cleanup has already happened. If this is happening after tuning load, the created tunable factory and tuned object will be garbage collected naturally after it is no longer referenced and needed.
WELL.... I find it very confusing to read in the terms and conditions that EA does not support MODS (those creations that actually change, modify or add substance to the game) or custom content; yet---- the update, it proves quite the opposite? if your going to fix some for Modders - then you should support them!!!!!! That is truly an contradiction to provide and update for them and say we don't support them???? Or is the whole idea to allows these modders to do their thing so any other issues can be said to be caused by the modder/creator of custom content. basically I see that as using others to hide or cover up your own mistakes and accountability - does not exist for anyone but the player. But I got your number.
I stopped purchasing packs and even stopped getting the kits LONG ago - because every new one I would get - would bring about a whole list of new issues and or make old issues worse! NONE of these issues were CAUSED BY MODS/CC cause I HAVE NEVER HAD THEM!!!!!
I've been playing sims since the 1st series (orginal) came out (well over 20 years ago) and I still to this day have all the packs from 2 series! I do tire of hearing how it's always the players issues/fault!!! From their computer/settings/lack of updates on some software/ outdated hardware/ MODS or Custom contect I've been accused of having because they refuse to believe the player!!!
I have noticed EA changing the sims 4 game achievements by removing older ones and adding new ones - relabeling objects in the game from 1 pack to a different pack - ( when I caught that, I was livid) - the deception alone. Not fixing the game pack errors - even selling game packs that do not have what they say it does / or can do - like wedding Stories - is just wrong! It's plainly wrong!
I refuse to buy any more headaches that just cause me frustration in a game I once truly loved!!!!! It's sad. As long as the list of issues i have, which go back to the base game - of which they sold many different versions and made obsolute some of them - the orginal sims4 pack my daughter gifted to me - is obsolute and they even renamed mine!!! So - I just wanted to say - that EA games - as long as I continue to have the same issues, I have had since I had to delete my entire game and start 100% completely over at their insistance a couple of years ago - all those issues.... - I still have a very long list - YOU KNOW what they are - you CHOOSE not to fix them and because of that - I have not been able to play my game for nearly a month now!!! I only had 7 housesholds and I lost 2 of them that had the only infants in my entire game!! I was not able to find the files anywhere and the game would not accept the backup I made before the update! That is clearly not my doing! But I am sure - you will, as usual, find a way to pass the buck - but the buck stops here. * luck to you all who continue to play and support SIMS 4 or jump into sims 5.
