EA. PLEASE let us turn off Grim Reaper Rewards and ads.

How can I turn it off? I'm not at all interested in the rewards or the challenges. It's sitting in the corner of my screen ruining my gameplay. Will it go away eventually or am I just stuck with it? Even if this one goes away will I be able to remove the next one?!  I thought it would maybe be like the discovery quests that you can opt in or out of, which I already have turned off. PLEASE LET ME TURN IT OFF! I'm so confused as to why they made this a in game situation. Everyone plays this game very differently and this is making me want to stop playing.  I've checked all the settings and tried multiple saves and there's nothing you can do. I'm more than annoyed by it, I see a lot of people in the sims community are also wanting to remove this. Stop forcing this kind of thing down our throat. I'll be here searching the internet until this problem has been resolved or until someone makes a mod to remove it all together.
You know and I might as well throw in that Vivaland looks better and better everyday......

  • MotherEarth25  Open Options > Game Options > Other, and disable Online Social Features.  Quit the game and delete accountDataDB.package, inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.  (This file contains data from your interim progress on the tasks but not the rewards you've earned.)  When you reload the game, the Reaper icon and everything else that comes with the event should be gone.

Thank you for this. I would be much happier, EA, were you to allow for us to see what the thing is about, (which is the ONLY reason I clicked on the checkmark). Sadly, once I did that I was trapped. A pretty lousy thing to do to those of us who have spent our hard-earned money supporting you through the purchase of these games.

I tried this as suggested and sure it worked for the one thing but now I can't use the gallery....So I can't mark this as a solution.
EA needs to give us the option to opt out of just these quests/rewards/weekly micro transaction bs... :(

Oh my god, I really really hope they make this an in-game option to turn it off. I shouldn't have to go into the game files to remove this annoying popup. I minimized the reaper task window, went into build mode, exited build mode, and the task menu re-opened itself. And it doesn't close until you minimize it. I just wanted to hop on to play for an hour or so before bed. Not spend that whole hour troubleshooting the game. I'm so frustrated...

Even though I was able to do what was suggested and turn off everything I agree with you that it should not be necessary.
There should be an easier way to opt out of these things in the regular options menu. I have played the Sims for my entire life.
The Sims all the way till Sims 4. Bought almost everything they put out. I DESERVE to not have this stuff shoved down my throat.
