Events - pls make them optional

This has been said in the General Discussion forum but I wanted to put it over here in Feedback in the hopes 'boosting the signal.'

I would really prefer Events, like Reapers Rewards and the upcoming Cozy Celebrations, to be optional.

For some players, they are great, and they should be able to enjoy these events.

For others, like me, that are a distraction at best and burden at worst. Having the event menu taking up screen space and all but screaming for attention at our neurodivergent brains seriously detracts from our gameplay. Further, for players like me, we play the Sims to tell our stories... and right now, my story is happening in Summer, which makes a winter holiday themed event an even more jarring distraction.

All I want is the option... something I can click on and say 'no, I don't want to do this event' that makes that pop up menu go away. I willing forgo the chance at the rewards for the peace for not having that menu take away from my gameplay experience. 

The Sims used to be about our unique stories.

All I'm asking for is the ability to play my game, tell my story, my way.
