Expand Skating into a Full Skill and Career

I’ve been playing The Sims since the original The Sims, and one of the things I’ve always loved about the franchise is seeing hobbies evolve into meaningful skills, activities, and even careers.

I think skating has a lot of untapped potential in The Sims 4. Right now, Sims can improve at skating, but the skill is hidden. I would love to see it become a fully visible skill with proper progression, unlockable tricks, new animations, achievements, competitions, and interactions.

It would be especially exciting if Sims could pursue professional skating as a career. They could start with local competitions or amateur events and eventually become professional skaters, perform in exhibitions, earn sponsorships, win trophies, and build a reputation.

Children could start learning the skill early and continue developing it as teenagers and adults. Parents or experienced Sims could teach younger Sims, and talented children or teens could participate in youth competitions.

There could even be different paths, such as figure skating, roller skating, or competitive skating, each with unique tricks, outfits, events, and rewards.

Since skating and skating rinks already exist in the game, expanding them into a deeper system could make an existing feature much more meaningful.

As someone who has played The Sims since The Sims 1, I would genuinely love to see more hobbies receive this kind of depth. Small activities becoming passions, skills, and eventually careers is exactly the kind of life progression that makes The Sims feel alive💚
