I think we definitely need more content for the elders in the game. I hardly ever play with an elder because there isn’t much to do with them. So I think to make them more fun we need a full blown elder based expansion pack. That not only includes way more clothing and hair options for them but a new neighborhood for them as well. That neighborhood could be a little retirement home trailer park. Maybe only elders can live here? All little lots with a mobile home on it. There can be a bingo activity they can go to, even make it a skill, or shuffle boarding making that a new skill as well. They can also add collecting retirement to this pack (they don’t have that right? I never care to play with an elder to find out) As far as furniture they can add older looking furniture making it look like they haven’t updated their home since the 70’s or 80’s! That ugly outdated furniture you used to see in your grandparents home lol Even add a detail like plastic on the couch! An old style tv with the knobs or a functional kettle that sits on the stove etc etc. A pack like this has so much potential. [SalixCat - Modified thread title for clarity]

@Lisi90s31 I hardly play with elders because they die so fast. I would love an elder focused pack coupled with a base game update extending the lifespan to allow elders to live longer. And maybe don't apply the whole "oh no you can't play with your grandkids/go for a jog without feeling terrible and risking a heart attack" thing until you're at least half way through the elder life stage? Because I know plenty of people who are more than twice my age, retired with grandkids, who can run and bike longer distances than me. It's embarrassing, really.

I don't add that many elders either or if I do I just place them in a little house or flat as a background character, a parent or grandparent of another Sim.We were almost there with Basement Treasures in terms of furnishings but a few of the items are a bit battered to actually look presentable in a nice granny flat.I do have a super cool elder named Hugo Soldado who is the patriarch of my favourite Sims dynasty. He's a screenwriter and he still works. He's a sharp dresser too. His wife was originally an elder but I wanted her to be a busy mother who is always cooking and having the family over but she just looked worn out with the elder animations so I created her again as an adult instead. I think it's the animations that put me off a bit. I play with ageing off.Elders I know can run rings around me lol so they're not always creaking and hunched over (that would be me instead 😂).So let's respect our elders a bit more!

yes! i want a feature where elders can perfect a recipe or add a secret ingredient to a recipe then they can pass it down to their children and grandchildren. then when those children cook there would be an option like “grandmas mac and cheese” in addition to the regular mac and cheese. they could get a happy moodlet when they make it cuz it reminds them of their family member.i think it would be really nice with the new expansion because they’re adding new recipes and the potluck thingand maybe an interaction where they can ask younger sims how to use the internet

I love this whole thread! Two of my grandmas lived in senior mobile home parks. Their neighbors were wonderful. I would totally play a senior community. You could do the bingo building or you could do a community center where bingo is held on certain days, crafting classes, game night, community pot lucks, holiday get togethers, and family get togethers just to name a few. Some would be prescheduled (like the football and cheerleading events in high school) and others would be events the sims would create.

I knew a person in their 80s who did yoga every morning and was attending belly dancing sessions once a week. I also know a man who is in his late 70s and is still white-water rafting, mountain climbing and abseiling, bushwalking and gem fossicking…. Just because a person is older doesn’t mean they are frail. I am a lot frailer physically now, since my injury, than many of the people in my town who are 15+ years older than me.I find the elders stage in Sims very frustrating so I generally play them initially as Adults aged by changing wardrobe, using grey hair, wrinkles and other skin textures rather than playing them as elders. I swap to elders after I have played the equivalent of a mature adult timespan who have been enjoying their empty nest and early retirement years by travelling and taking up new hobbies as well as teaching grandkids to go camping, garden, fish, ride bikes…

That's a great idea! I would add a way for the elders to have woo-hoo without feeling on the edge of heart attack!

I too would like an elder focused pack! I enjoy having elder sims as members of my sims families as well as them being their friends. They are so very special and lovely in our real lives and it would be great to have this reflected in our game also.

I would love to see an expansion based off seniors. Have retirement homes and wheelchairs. Then have traits like dimensia. Maybe even have funerals and jobs that relate like a embalming or grave digger. What does everyone else think?

I would love to have game pack (or expansion pack) that included retirement homes, walkers, canes, wheelchairs, bingo, the board games and puzzles that came with Growing Together, activities, the ability to add elevators or chair lifts for those using walkers, canes, and wheelchairs, etc. That would be so good! At the same time maybe they could even add wheelchairs (and elevators) to base game (like they did with bunk beds)?
