EA has made it clear that this is meant to be a feature not a bug. But it is absolutely horrible! I will not be playing the sims 4 at all until this decision has been reversed. Even players who already own everything have it constantly pulsing in the corner! Worst update EVER!
Worse enough that it's in the game but why does it pulsate? I can't stand blinking things š
There you have it. Now they are crying!

Would be cool if EA listened to user feedback instead of being openly hostile towards people trying to enjoy the game. Nothing makes you want to quit a game more than constant reminders that you are nothing but a cash grab.

Remove this ridiculous button!
EA is going to waste time and resources to add this ridiculous shop button when they could EASILY be fixing the game! Instead all we get is a souless cash grab of a game that breaks with every new pack.

It's not a big, it's a stupid "feature" that never should have been implemented. Did y'all never consider the people who get seizures from flashing lights? Seriously this is so shady and greedy. Just take the button out. Put it in the main menu if you *must* have it, but don't harass us IN GAME to spend more money. EA has enough money. This is tasteless.

WHat an update, if only I could see that button like everyone else, it seems like its better this way, except my game is crashing now, like never before... and yes I have downloaded and install the update, version up to date and apparently there is no resolution of bug since my sims still pick cheese and bread from the fridge instead of full meal prepared for them...

Oh and by the way, Im not buying the next dlc, thats enough of this, until HUGE effective bugs resolutions happen.
- 12 months ago@EA_Cade This is not a bug and you know it, this is an awful feature and it is actively causing issues for many players, myself included. Please remove this "feature" altogether.

Just remove it. this is so predatory and disgusting behavior on the companies side. dont test it dont track it just put in that its not a good feature and its not going to go over well and no one wants it so removeit.

I want it removed entirely. I purposely do not own certain packs for specific reasons. I refuse to click on it, only for the packs I do not even want to be suggested for purchase. We already have the packs suggested on the main menu, so why have it pushed during gameplay? This feature just makes me want to go back to playing Sims 2, so I don't have to deal with the in-game advertising.

That's a new feature ? That button may be the very worst idea that EA have ever had.
Nobody need that Ā«featureĀ». Everybody and their neighbour hate it. And the pulsing ? That's making a Bad thing even worst.
The packs that I don't already own are those that I just do not want, and for some, that's even if they where free. So, that button Ā«enticingĀ» me to buy them is just a total waste.
If EA don't remove it, we'll need a moder to publish a mod to suppress it. Then, for someone to crack the console versions to enable them to use mods so that console players can get access to the mods that correct some outstanding bugs and get rid of that button.

Itās really upsetting. It feels as if more time was spent on this than making the game functional. This is a very quick way to lose those of us who have purchased all (if not a majority) of the game over the past ten years.

REMOVE THE CART BUTTON
I also still have the pulsating light on the shopping cart. It only goes away when I click on it - which I suppose is the entire point, to make people go in and click. The problem is I really don't want that to count for data on how well the button is working for getting people to engage. I actually hate the button, even after the light is gone.
I have an absurd number of hours in this game. I've put up with so many bugs and glitches and issues because I love playing this game. However, the one thing I actually can't stand is more unbridled capitalism trying to get more money from people. We all already know how to buy more packs. If I wanted to buy packs I don't have, I would have done so already. I'm disappointed to say the least, and I likely won't be playing the game until this shopping cart button (pulsating or not) is removed entirely. I was so excited to buy the new Stuff Pack today, but now I won't be doing so.
Besides, let's not pretend that the correct way to make money from people is to create packs that people actually want to buy and that actually work. Of course the button is an easy cash grab that will maybe boost sales this quarter, but is just another issue that's making people lose confidence in the franchise long-term.
To Sum it up:
-My cart is still pulsating
-Please remove the cart button
-I won't be buying any packs or playing the game until this is fixed- Moozilla1312 months agoSeasoned Ace
At first I actually felt a little optimism with how quickly they pushed out an e-patch for this, it seemed like this was one case where they took community feedback seriously. Aaaaand then I came crashing right back down when it turned out they merely rehashed the feature a bit. Tbh, it feels as though pulling back on the pulsating was no more than a hasty attempt to give the appearance of consideration so they don't have to backpedal on the cash grab completely. While I realize this push almost certainly came from over the devs' heads, it really highlights where the company's priorities lie, and it's not a good look. I understand corporations literally exit to maximize profits, but it's still possible to do that with some integrity. Despite frustrations, I've willingly overlooked a lot of things, simply because it's the nature of the capitalist machine, but this is a case that I feel crosses too far into that lack of integrity zone. They've received virulent feedback on this, they know it's a betrayal of their player base, yet they're so hyperfocused on sales that they've displayed no contrition over a thoughtless decision, let alone been willing to make a genuine effort to fix it. TLDR, I'm disappointed in a team I badly wanted to have faith in.

It still pulsates even after the "emergency patch" I cannot figure out the pattern, but something to do with travelling and/or entering build mode or opening the gallery. it's SUPER ANNOYING! GET RID OF IT!! Do we need to create a new bug report since this is marked as supposedly fixed?! I can't stand playing for more than a few minutes. Its far too distracting and makes me want to buy stuff LESS!
