@puzzlezaddict I'm not sure if it helps to not fill the hunger bar, but that was how it worked in Sims 2 (and maybe Sims 3 too?) so I assumed that would work, but maybe it counts all the "calories" for a meal even if the meal isn't finished.
I've been thinking about if this could be considered a bug, since other tuning issues are sometimes considered bugs despite originally being by design. I honestly don't think it sends out good signals that even something like a lettuce-based salad makes sims gain weight.

@SqueamishNerd I tested today and only let the Sim have one meal a day and she was very hungry with the line in red before I let her eat. Salads and Yogurt she made. Then when she was hungry later I top her up using UI cheats. I spent from about 1 pm till 11:30 pm with this Sim to see if it would stop them from gaining. It didn't work. I took her in CAS and she was bigger. Not a whole lot bigger but still bigger, still she gained weight. Over time it would be the same problem.
