Heya! I think that's a great design choice, but the greenhouse in my haunted house is at the back of the lot, furthest away from the spawn point on the Hallows lot in Willow Creek. When I get this glitch, it's never the frontmost door that becomes the front door, it's always the one furthest away (the back door, the shed/greenhouse/outhouse in the back garden). No matter how many times I set the actual front door (at the front of the lot, always the closest door to the spawn point) as the front door, visitors will always revert using the back door/greenhouse door/shed to knock once there's been a loading screen.
I understand that as default behaviour, but I have to ask, what's the point of an interaction to set the front door, if that designation doesn't stick? I can't understand how that could be "working as designed".

I honestly don't believe that it's "working as designed" . What is the actual point of having a "Set as front door" action if it doesn't change the front door and it doesn't save it as such?
Yes we would absolutely like you to revisit this recent design choice that is a mistake that invalid other features. With your answer I feel like you didn't understood the issue correctly, so let me rephrase it, for clarity.
The game provide the option to manually assign any door as a front door, but now you are telling me that this long time feature is totally useless now, because your recent "design choice" is automatically ignoring this and reassigning the closest door to the lot's spawn point as a front door every time we load the map. Is that correct? How is that a feature and not a bug? It totally erase the other functionality that allowed us to manually choose the front door.
Also, an other point, with the business expansion pack, we have a shop and a house, so we don't want people to ring at the shop when the intention is to ring at the house or to have sims come back home and pass through the store for some reason. And even without the business pack, we want the option to choose which door is the main door. (Like we were always able to do before).
