[Fan Concept] Magic of the 19th Century

The Sims 4 Expansion Concept – Magic of the 19th Century

Hello The Sims Team!

I'm a long-time Sims player, and over the past few months I've been working on a fan-made expansion concept that I'd love to share with you.

The idea is called Magic of the 19th Century and combines life simulation with a fantasy world inspired by nineteenth-century Europe while staying true to the core identity of The Sims 4.

The concept introduces a new world called Drakoria, featuring:

  • 🏰 Six unique kingdoms, each with its own architecture, culture, royal family and traditions.
  • 🐉 Dragon Shapeshifters as a new occult life state.
  • 🧙 A Magic Academy where witches improve naturally through study and practice instead of unlocking abilities with points.
  • 👑 Playable royal families with castles, succession, ceremonies and generational gameplay.
  • 🥚 A unique royal succession system centered around the Golden Egg.
  • 🎉 Dynamic events such as Royal Balls, Dragon Hatching Ceremonies, Wild Dragon Attacks and seasonal festivals.
  • 📖 A strong focus on legacy gameplay, allowing players to build a dynasty across generations.

My goal wasn't simply to create new fantasy features, but to design systems that encourage storytelling, family gameplay and player freedom, which I believe are at the heart of The Sims.

To support the idea, I've also created an illustrated concept book that includes gameplay systems, world-building, concept art, maps, royal families, UI ideas and detailed design documents.

I know the team receives many suggestions, and I don't expect every idea to fit the game's direction. I simply wanted to share this project in the hope that some of these concepts might inspire future content.

This project was created purely out of my passion for The Sims.

Over time, I developed this concept by imagining an expansion that celebrates generational gameplay, creativity, storytelling, and the freedom that has always made The Sims so special.

I understand that not every idea can fit the game's direction or development plans, and I don't expect this concept to be implemented as it is.

My hope is simply that it might offer some inspiration for future content and serve as a small tribute to a series that has been part of my life for many years.

Thank you again for taking the time to read my proposal and for continuing to create experiences that allow millions of players around the world to tell their own unique stories.

Note

This concept was created independently by a fan as a creative proposal for The Sims 4.

All written content, world-building, gameplay ideas, and design concepts were developed by me.

The illustrations were created with the assistance of ChatGPT's AI image generation tools and are intended solely as concept art to help visualize the ideas presented. They are not official artwork and are not affiliated with or endorsed by Electronic Arts or Maxis.

The Sims, The Sims 4, Maxis, and Electronic Arts are trademarks of their respective owners.

Have a wonderful day!

    Thank you for your consideration.

  • I like this idea. I also like that you included the photos separately instead of imbedded in the text.

I personally don't like (but I don't dislike either) it when people do this cause there is always a chance to accidentally download the image instead of viewing, and I hate (myself) how many times I accidentally do that X /

    I've downloaded plenty. 😀 I just delete.

What I actually like is you have the option of viewing the pics. Or not

Wow, this 19th-century expansion concept is absolutely stunning! The detail you put into Drakoria and the dynastic progression is exactly what legacy players crave. I noticed you mentioned using AI tools to visualize your ideas—that's a brilliant workflow because a lack of creative inspiration shouldn't stop great storytelling. When I’m brainstorming historical looks or palace settings for my own Sims stories, I always use Photoshoot.app ( ) as my primary creative inspiration hub. It features an incredibly expanding library filled with thousands of photoshoot ideas across fashion photography and portrait photography. It’s perfect for visualizing specialized creative concepts (like 19th-century royal ball aesthetics or vintage costumes) before jumping into Create-A-Sim. Thank you for sharing this inspiring proposal! For those sketching similar concept art
