Gardening revamp

I love to see more types of plants and flowers. Build cute little sheds and mow grass etc with gardening tools. Gardening is one of my most favourite thing to do on the Sims but I feel it can be much better. Splicing plants/flowers to create different colour variations. More choices of plant pots and decorative garden items, plants, pond edges, more patio textures, stairs on rounded edges etc 💚

  • The flowers we can grow aren't particularly decorative and some don't even look like the real plant they are supposed to represent (tulips, lilies, bluebells, etc.). Would be nice to have gardening for flowers and garden design and not just for vegetables.

  • The gameplay is poor because it’s based on reaching an optimum (a perfectly planted plant), without any epic goal, and once achieved, there’s nothing left to do. Especially with magical powers that allow players to bypass progression.

The game could be gamified with a plant nursery and a plant conservatory:

Instead of only selling the final product, players could fulfill weekly orders, for example: supplying the nursery with 30 tomato plants (not the fruits/vegetables/seeds) of superior quality. This means the plants leave the field, and players would need to maintain a base to replant and meet orders again, following a clear schedule to make the action strategic and infinitely replayable.

For the conservatory, each plant tied to a specific world and either cultivated or growing wild in that world would have an unlimited multiplication bonus, while others would be limited. This would require players to use various strategies, such as magical or technological cloning, or to go fetch seeds in the relevant world. It would also be possible to create small conservatory stations in each world, with NPC hubs forming an exchange network. Players could then order plants from NPC Sims only if they themselves have those plants in their gardens.
