I would definitely be interested in a hotel game pack (similar to the restaurant game pack) that is entirely focused on a really well designed system for making, visiting, and running hotels. I'm most interested in being able to build my own hotel lots, set the uniforms from CAS like we can for restaurant uniforms, build in different types of amenities (pools, gyms, room service etc.), and have it all work like a hotel when I bring my sims there for a stay. I'm not as interested in owning and running them, but I know a lot of players would want that, so I think it should also be part of the pack.
I do see some potential issues (besides just the usual "things not working properly" problems we keep having with complex systems). One is just the limit on how many sims can be on a lot. Large hotel builds would definitely feel weirdly empty. But small hotels, inns, and bed and breakfast type builds would probably seem fine. There also could be some controversy about needing other packs such as Spa Day or Dine Out to be able to have those amenities on the hotel lot. But I think if they designed it so that any functional objects you put on the hotel lot spawn the right type of employees to run them, and trigger visiting sims to use them, it would be fine. That way players would be able to use whatever packs they have to create really interesting and unique hotels. Could be a lot of fun to see what kinds of weird and exotic ideas simmers come up with using a system like that.
I currently create fake "hotels" by setting the lot type to spa or restaurant or night club and making rooms up above that main attraction for my sims to stay in. If I want to see other sims spending time in the other hotel rooms, I set up Get Together clubs that come and use the items in the rooms (using rules like "sleep" or "watch TV"). But it would be nice to have it set up to actually work like a real hotel.
