I need an option to change University term length in base game settings

  • Could the developers please shorten the duration of university? By the time my Sim finishes, they're already getting old! 

With so many careers and activities available in The Sims 4 now, spending an entire life stage just to get a university degree feels way too long. By the time my Sims graduate and can actually use their skills to run a business or pursue new careers, they’re already old!

Because of this, Discover University has become an expansion I rarely get to play, which is a real shame—especially now that we have business and sandbox-focused packs. We shouldn't have to leave standard expansions behind just to stick to the grind of school.

  • Please give us base-game settings to customize or shorten university duration, so we can seamlessly enjoy it alongside other expansion packs for a much more fun experience. Please consider this!

    I 100% agree on this. The player has the option to turn off aging in the settings while they do the University stuff.

    I could be wrong, but this reads like a you issue, and not a Discover University issue. And I don't write that to be disrespectful. First, you have the option to turn off auto-aging in your game's setting menu. This change does not have to be permanent, and can be isolated for the duration of your sims' schooling career. Secondly, a Discover University semester is less than a week in game. Provided that you can take a max of 4 classes per semester, a degree only takes three weeks in game to obtain should you take the max credits and enroll continuously after each semester ends. I understand each simmer has their own story lines to play out, so completing degress can differ for everyone, but it for sure doesn't HAVE to take your sims life time to complete.

    Pro-tip(s) - as soon as your sim is enrolled, complete their homework, draft the term paper and capture information for the presentation. Off bat, that gives you a head start and leaves you room for paper and presentation refinement before the first day of classes even begin.
