I discovered that even when the secret is gone, you can have them research their family tree or history, and it will remove the secret child tidbit. I am not sure I am explaining it correctly. I tried really hard to expose the secret child or have it become a scandal, but it wouldn't work. When I had the secret child research their family history, it was anticlimactic, but the relationship appeared. I am upset about the secret child only working with the wife and not the husband.
When my Sim aged up into a child, the secret about her mother having a secret child disappeared. This happened after she received a phone call and was blackmailed. No scandal was triggered and the secret vanished, so technically there was no longer a secret to be discovered? I’m not sure.
In the mother’s and father’s family trees, it still showed that there was a secret daughter, but in the daughter’s tree everything appeared “fabricated.” When my Sim grew up, I tried many different ways to make her discover the truth. I researched genealogy on the computer, studied that green book from the new expansion, looked for secrets about the mother, and checked the biological father’s family tree.
Researching the parents’ family tree was the most disappointing part, because she should have found out right away who her real parents are. Instead, a completely random secret was revealed.
