Historical/culture pack ideas
So, I really want EA to move away from making modern North American centered packs and make more historical and culturally themed packs. Ancient China pack Would introduce a new world with a Han or Ming dynasty theme. New CAS and build mode items, new events and careers, and new hobbies and appliances. Add lots of new homestyle, gourmet, and baking recipes with new harvestables and ingredients such as: rice, soy sauce, lotus root, jasmine flower, noodles, jujube, and adzuki beans. Add new off the grid appliances such as bamboo steamer basket (for making dim sum, steamed buns, etc), wood stove with wok, and icehouse storage (fridge). Add new activities such as paper folding, calligraphy, chinese opera, and pitch pot game. Add new instruments: pipa (guitar) and zither (piano), add new crafting stations: table loom (for embroidery/weaving), engraving, and stone carving skills. Add new martial arts skill and equipment. Allow sims to participate in martial arts competitions and spar. Add new careers: emperor, clothier, tactician, and court minister. Add new market stalls, a new garden plot (rice paddy), and a new transport vehicle palanquin. Add new event: coronation. Victorian Pack Would introduce a new world with a Victorian England theme. New CAS and build mode items, new events and careers, and new hobbies. Add new activities such as: clay pigeon shooting. Add new event: debutant ball. Add new etiquette skill with curtsy animations. Add new careers: governess (like a private tutor) and seamster. Persian pack Would introduce a new world with a Persian theme. NEW CAS and build mode items, new careers and activities, and new skills and events. New homestyle, gourmet, and baking recipes with new harvestables and ingredients such as dates, figs, apricots, and turmeric. New careers: carpet salesman and oil tycoon. New activities and skills: metalworking and wrestling. Add new events and traditions that are culturally accurate.20Views1like1CommentExpansion pack idea: Health & Disease
Background: When playing, I noticed that the deaths a Sim can die from are either old age, or unnatural deaths. This feels very unrealistic because most people won't drown or die from a fire but from injuries and diseases. Also, "old age" is so incredibly broad - no one dies from old age but actually from different diseases that are simply more common on old age, such as alzheimers, heart failure, cancer, etc. I would give anything for an expansion pack where the health of a Sim matters. Sims can get diseases, anything from a flu to a chronic condition. They can get treatment, and for some diseases, Sims can die, especially if left untreated. Lifestyles should interact with a Sim's health: A sim that eats badly and never exercises should be more prone to develop metabolic or heart diseases than a sim that is active, spends a lot of time outside, and eats well. Until now, all Sims have the same lifespan and well-being whether we take wonderful care of them or whether we lock them up and only feed them once every two days to not let them starve. A health expansion pack would make our decisions for them much more meaningful. Dying from old age should not happen out of nowhere after a certain time lived but should be due to certain diseases that are more common the elder, just like in real life. Give them heart problems, metabolic issues, cancer. Give them dementia. Make the experience of elder Sims more realistic and unique, instead of just making them grey-haired versions of their younger selves. Introduce hospital stays, retirement homes. Maybe even make some conditions genetic - until now, the only heritable thing are the looks of Sims. There is so much more potential of the genes. Andpleaseintroduce reproductive care!! Give female Sims a reproductive cycle with varying fertility. Maybe even let their health influence their fertility. There is so much unused potential even though having children is such a central part to the game. Another idea would be to introduce or expand on mental health as well. --- I would like to hear what other ideas you guys have! And if someone knows how to directly reach out to EA and suggest this idea, please let me know! I am very passionate about this.18Views1like1CommentExpansion pack idea
so i’ve been thinking of an expansion pack that goes a little more in depth than the ones we have now and i think i came up with a pretty good idea. so im thinking like a royal / medieval pack. like you can be a commoner, princess/prince, king/queen. and if you’re a commoner you can marry into the royal family if you choose. and there’s specific jobs for commoners and as a king/queen you can make changes within the kingdom a new skill could be etiquette / manners like bowing / curtsy, and just basically acting how a royal would act. also hosting royal balls, meeting other royal families also maybe even have a knight option. so you go on adventures on behalf of the kingdom. fighting / taming dragons, exploring new places, maybe adding in fairies on one exploration what do you guys think?76Views3likes4CommentsVehicles & Travel Ideas
So... 10 years and still no cars, huh? Here's some ideas I had for that, and how to improve the travel system along with it since revamping base systems seems to be a theme for DLC packs recently. Realistically, a pack with this much work put into it would likely be an expansion pack. If they gave us a free travel update then cars by themselves could just be a game pack, though. My idea for this pack would be to make travel in TS4 very similar to how it was in TS2. TS3 really can't be used to compare to TS4 because the open world drastically changes things, especially when it comes to travel. Here's what I would put into the pack if I were making it: Add cars to buy mode in a range of prices from $10k and up. Give rich sims something really expensive to spend their money on. Add functional driveways and garage doors, and update old garage doors from previous packs to be compatible. While the driveways from TS3 would be ideal (place them anywhere and the car will route off-lot no matter where it is), the driveways from TS2 would be the bare minimum (short driveway that only attaches to the front of the lot, is straight, no routing customizations). Something like connecting pieces that are straight, diagonal, and curved so that we can make somewhat custom driveways would be realistic IMO. The ability to place a parking spot anywhere on the lot and then use a tool to draw a drive path would be spectacular. Parking spot items should include traditional bumper bars as well as an "invisible" spot. Add personal helicopters! These were always stupid, ridiculous luxury items in TS2. Bring them back for some added charm and with the bonus of ignoring travel time changes (we'll get to those). Add a rabbithole "shop at car dealership" interaction on the phone. Sims can leave the lot, have a pop-up appear after a few seconds with a randomly generated list of cars from the buy catalogue at a discount, with an option to select one or leave. Leaving brings your sims back immediately. Selecting one keeps your sims at the dealership for another hour or two, then they drive home in their new car. Add a driving skill. The ability to give lessons to sims teen and up, passing the driver's license test, and potentially any driving-related careers can be tied to this skill. It increases by driving, being taught by another sim, reading a book, going to driver's education classes, or researching online. Learning online or by reading should only get them a few levels in before they need real experience, though. Increasing skill past level 6/7 should take an extremely long time without career-related driving boosts. Driver's ed classes need to provide a significant skill boost (ex. one full level of a 10-level skill) and be available to teens and up. Again, these can be a rabbithole. Passing a driver's license test by going to the DMV-equivalent (rabbithole) for an hour. Have sims have a chance to pass based on their driving skill, with a certain threshold guaranteeing that they'll pass (maybe level 6 or 7 of a 10-level skill). Sims created in CAS that are YA or older can have a license automatically, but everyone else should have to pass the test. No free license if your teen didn't pass and becomes a YA. Car keys as inventory items that summon the car with a car key click animation. This feels most realistic for TS4. Having the cars actually parked at community lots and such would be great, but maybe expecting too much at this point. Just please don't have our sims put the whole car in their inventory... Integrate car maintenance skills into the handiness skill, with high skill required to make upgrades to cars and medium skill required to perform maintenance on them. Add a "junker" car in buy mode that is fully customizable with high handiness skill, but doesn't work at all when you buy it. Basically let sims build a car from the bottom up and select frame and color while they work. Add a "Driver" career. Traditional rabbithole, 2-branch career, tied to the driving skill and maybe a little bit of handiness in the early levels. Requires you to have a license before you can join. Branches could be a racecar driver (driving and charisma) and a professional driver (driving and mischief?) that works for rich & powerful sims. Add an Uber-style freelance career or odd jobs that requires you to have a license before you can join. Still a rabbithole, with work time and pay based on how far the client wants to go. Add mischief interactions like sneaking out to street races or attempting to steal a sim's keys and take off with their car. Now we get into travel changes. Travel in TS4 has always annoyed me, with the ability to hop from Mt. Komorebi to Sulani in literal sim-seconds. This pack would be the perfect opportunity to make travel a bit more realistic. Travel takes time, with a few exceptions. Time will change based on distance and mode of travel. With one sim in the household/playable, the time will just skip as they load into the destination lot. With more than one playable sim, the traveling sim will disappear and be off-lot and inaccessible during travel time (similar to them being at any rabbithole) then appear at the destination lot when the time has passed. Preferably with a pop-up to switch to the traveling sim when they arrive. Traveling in-neighborhood is as instant as it has always been, regardless of travel mode. Traveling in-world but outside of current neighborhood will take a small amount of time. Maybe 1hr if your sim is walking, 30min if they have a bike, and 10 min if they have a car. Traveling to neighboring worlds takes 5x longer than traveling in-world. (This will require all current and future worlds to be assigned a distance from all other worlds) Traveling to distant worlds requires your sim to go to an airport (another rabbithole, let's be realistic) and then fly to their destination. The whole process from start to finish should take several sim hours. You could accompany this with rare scenario cards of things happening to your sim at the airport or on the plane. If your sim has a helicopter, they can use it to bypass all travel times. If your sim has a fully upgraded rocket, they can use it to travel to Batuu with no travel time. Bring back carpools, taxis, and school buses. Sims going to school/work will have a carpool or bus arrive before work starts, and wait for a little while after it is supposed to start in case your Sim is running late. They'll be brought back by the bus/carpool at the end of their work day. (Perfect opportunity for some fun, unique cars that you only see as carpools for specific jobs!) Owning a car or bike would give your sim the option to take themselves to work/school. Sims traveling anywhere will have the option to call a taxi/Uber-equivalent and leave for the location once their ride shows up. Getting a taxi/Uber-equivalent would cost money. Maybe have the option to call a friend for a ride if they're available, or use a friend's travel mode if you're traveling with them. Emergency vehicles and vehicles for townies that visit. Firefighters should show up in a fire truck, pregnant sims can get a ride in an ambulance when they go to the hospital to deliver (if nobody is available to drive them), and townies should be assigned random vehicles if they don't have one on their lot. Would be great to see townies using different cars/modes of travel based on their financial status. Those are my (long-winded) thoughts and ideas for a car/travel pack! What would you guys like to see with something like this?64Views2likes5CommentsPack Refreshes and More Pet Options
I would really love some pack refreshes on some older packs that were a bit bare bones compared to the more current ones filled with many options to explore. Get to work aliens for example have very little to do on planet sixam and there isn't a lot of gameplay options for them, plus more jobs you can join your sim on would be awesome, more things to do with vampires would be wonderful as well, and I know we have goats and sheep bit why no piggies? Everyone loves piggies. And we need more small pet options like different birds, snakes, so forth with lots of interactions to make it extra fun. Just my take on it.27Views2likes1CommentI really really miss the full control over my sims!!!
Idk about you guys but I miss the sims 2 and 3 ability to walk my sims around with my controller stick instead of the click only motion. When can we possibly see the sims 4 have an option to turn on and off stick controls!? “For Xbox & PlayStation “ also : I miss Sims 2 Castaway can we get an updated version of the same game ? Simmer since 2007 💕21Views0likes0CommentsPre Schoolers and Preteens
Am I the only one who wants to add these life stages? I hate that it's only infant, toddler, kid, teen. 5 year old kids are vastly different from 9 year olds. Same with 12 year olds and 16 year olds. I also wants the family portraits to come back. That was my favorite part of the sims 3. Does anyone else agree? Let's let EA hear us!!!134Views5likes10Comments"Private" toggle for CAS outfits, please!
With the release of Lovestruck and Sweet Slumber Party and, frankly, watching one of lilsimsie's Sims plead with the Grim Reaper in her lingerie this week I'd love to see a "Private" button on CAS items or fits so each Sim can decide what they're comfortable with. Like when the shoes auto-on/off when they enter the house in For Rent (love that!),they could auto-change into an outfit marked as Private if they are alone in a room, or with a Partner Sim. I love building CAS that feels realistic, and for me that means Sleep outfits for a femme Sim might include: shorts and a Horse Ranch sweater, a t-shirt and underwear bottoms, pants and a bra, a bra and underwear set, a nightgown. Likewise, Sleep outfits for a masc Sim might include: pants and no top, boxers and no top, underwear and a Horse Ranch sweater (it's one of my favourite Sleep tops!), boxers and a t-shirt. But I don't want an Adult shirtless or in their underwear when there are kids around, or Roommates, or Sims from outside their Household. Here are some other reasons a Private toggle for CAS outfits would be so empowering to our Sims (and to Simmers!): A Teen Sim is shy and uncomfortable in their own skin and prefers bulky sweaters in public but is also experimenting with form-fitting CAS in Private A Sim is transitioning and wearing a different Fashion Choice (Feminine or Masculine) in Private An Elder Sim who grew up wearing makeup will always put their makeup on when non-Household Sims are around (Public) A Sim that covers will take their hijab off when they're with their Partner Sim (Private) A Sim on a Sleep Over or Stay-Over will not wear underwear or other Private outfits in other Sims' houses A Sim dresses Preppy or other specific Style in Public and a little more Rocker in Private A Sim prefers a one-piece Swimwear in Public but might wear a two-piece if they were getting in the hot tub with their Partner Sim (Private) A Sim is obsessed with horses (see: Horse Ranch sweater, above) and it's a secret from everyone! But automated. There are lots of opportunities for to use a "Private" toggle on CAS outfits in storytelling! Let me know if you have any additional ideas below!66Views2likes3Comments
