EA claims that making it perpetually fall in Ravenwood is because of vibes or whatever.
IMO, they didn’t want to deal with the programming challenge of ensuring the rebirth pond doesn’t freeze over the winter, because it has to be available to use at all times. The easier thing is to just turn off the weather in the whole world. That’s just my guess, though.
I don’t know why they didn’t just say the world was fictional if they weren’t going to allow it to have weather like the real place it’s supposed to represent.
- unicornpiggiez10 months agoSeasoned Veteran@PandoraTO Oh, that's disappointing then. I would've loved to see the world during winter.
And if they wanted to capture that autumn feel, I wish they went more all out then. Like there's a couple autumnal trees in the town square, but I wish there were more to indicate a permanent autumn.
If you're gonna design an eternal autumn, design it in a way that's deliberate and leaves no ambiguity to whether it was an intentional design choice or a weird bug. - aeroprincess8710 months agoNew Traveler
That makes sense for literally only grim's headquarters and maybe Mourningvale. The rest look pretty normal. Why didn't they just give it the Mt. Korembi treatment and make part of it perpetually fall and the rest of it like normal?

This! Those were my thoughts exactly!
I don't play with occults so the gameplay part doesn't interest me at all - especially this kind of occult like talking with ghosts and reading tarot cards is something I want to get away from as far as I can. The only selling point for me was the stunning world (well, just the normal, beautiful neighborhood at the right top of the map).
But now that even this part of the world doesn't experience seasons at all, there is no point in getting this pack.
I'm surprised they went this way because usually they always make sure that even non occult players buy the pack just for the world.
Normally I never wait for a sale, but this time I'm not even sure if I will buy this pack ever. It would be the second pack after Paranormal Stuff that I would not buy.
If they decide to change the weather in the world then I will maybe get it on a good sale.
Very disappointed in the lack of seasons for this beautiful world.

I understand the wish for snow but can we please stop assuming rude things like "the devs didn't want to deal with it". There is no reason to automatically assume the choice was because something was "too difficult".
Also, Lake Lunvik in Moonwood Mill doesn't freeze in winter. It says "too cold to swim" but it's not frozen. Werewolves can still wade in up to their ankles.

I personally like the Autumnal feel of the new world, it seems fitting. It's just the leaves that are starting to bother me. My Sim is constantly sweeping them up as she's on a large lot.
Edit: so I found the leaves eventually vanished if I restarted my game. So they mustn't be intended to continue into Spring and Summer after all. I'm relieved about that because Whispering Glen is such a beautiful neighbourhood.

I Live on the largest lot and have yet to see a single fallen leave. It is currently winter so should have seen some by now if there are any.
