Loading times

I have been playing Sims since I was a teen i almost 40yrs old now, I have went pc to console playing the sims and the loading times are a killer! There are no mods on console so why so long with the loading. I have kids now so early morning or late night is when I play and I end up falling asleep waiting for the game the green diamond to go across the screen. That's a shame.

    davis9705​ how many save files are you running? I've got 2 on Xbox Series X and although it is a little slower recently (I have all content and most maker packs) it's bearable. With 3 saves or less a console will perform better as it's not struggling to index the directory. The loading of the Marketplace is adding to load times because it adds a few new loading tasks like loading your moola currency, checking Marketplace promotions and things of that nature.

    Also on console it can help to cut down on in game storage too. Xbox support gave me the tip to clear my library because all of that takes up space and causes a local storage drain. Check Other Households for random Townies that you don't need, I do that daily. The game creates a lot and they slow down the game significantly. Clear household and personal inventories of previous households because all of those assets also slow down the game and cause simulation lag. The age of the console can have an impact too, if it's an 8th gen console (ps4/Xbox one) it will be slower than a next gen console like ps5 or Xbox Series X. 

    There's a bug report for endless loading times here if the problem is that severe and matches the reports, you can add a reply and upvote it. It's been Verified so that's an indicator it's been replicated by the team and awaiting action.

    I can't speak to loading times on console, but I am just going to believe it is similar to PC. It most likely is due to the file size of the game. I know loading times for my teens console games are longer due the save file size is larger, but they do not play Sims on console. It just seems to be a similar problem.

    I sympathize trying to still game while you are a parent. A decade ago, I would have my PC running all day. I would find time in-between my stay at home mom duties to play (15 to 30 minute periods). So the game would register 8 hours being played where I might have played 45 minutes to an hour and have it in a paused state for the other hours. I know that might not be helpful, but just explain what I did while having toddlers. Do you only game at those times because the kids use the console at other times? My only advice is to do gaming sessions on weekends while the young kids are playing other times in the same room.

    I know not everyone can afford or do as my own family of gamers, because we own 3 PCs and 3 Nintendo consoles. My family of 5 jokes that we play 5 different games in the same room and call it family time.
