The simple fact is they tried to be "inclusive" in the laziest way possible. If the Sims 4 wants to be seen as an Inclusive game, they need to put actual effort into doing it.
More options are always better than less. There are countless LGBT people who WANT to be called someone's husband, or wife, and forcing an M/M or F/F couple to just be "spouses" instead, frankly, offensive.

I agree with everyone and think that "neutralizing" traditional labels is completely unnecessary, and frankly, offensive to me. Adding an option to use an alternate label for those few who want to change them would have been preferred.
