So if I had my way I would totally refresh Cooking, Baking, Gardening, Mixology, Flower Arranging. This is a complete discussion for another time. Concentrating upon Gardening and where it deals with Cooking/Baking I'd suggest these things.
I would like to these Harvestables for Cooking/Baking/Canning.
- Butternut Squash - We already have several cooking recipes that call for it
- Cabbage
- Celery
- Cucumbers
- Grapes - Expand the current Grape varieties like Sims 3 did. Then make a few more Nectars types based off of it.
- Grapefruit
- Herbs
- Dill
- Mint
- Oregano
- Rosemary
- Thyme
- Lime Tree
- Mango Tree
- Orange Tree
- Peach Tree
- Plum Tree
- Portobello Mushrooms
- Red Pepper
- Sweet Potatoes
- Zucchini
I would also like these Buy Items
- Bird Bath Update - Not directly tied to Gardening but usually features prominently in gardens
- Bird Animations
- Interactions
- Clean
- Empty Water
- Fill Water
- Composter - This should have been in Seasons or at the very least Eco Living
- French Trellis & Fruit Cages
- Garden Edging for Flower Beds
- There was one from Sims 2: Bon Voyage used in Three Lakes that looked like small tree cross sections, that would be a great choice. Maybe as a Refresh for the often asked for Refresh on Outdoor Living
- Gardening Plant Signs with the picture of the plant
- Single Sprinkler Heads - Sims 2 had these, they were made to look like a sprinkler system and all came on at the same time.
Things I'd Like in the Game to make Gardening more fun
- Community Lot Designations
- Community Garden
- Farmers Market
- Farms
- Orchard
- Pumpkin Patch
- Strawberry Patch
- Florist Shop
- Garden Center
- Hedge Maze - I know we can make one now BUT what I'm going for is a special community lot that has something, maybe an object or something else that compels Sims to walk through it. Not something that makes the obsessively do it but just something that allows them to walk it and enjoy it. A useful lot rather than a decorative one.
- Japanese Tea Garden
- Flower Shows like the ones that they do in Chelsea, Great Britain
- Garden Judging - Like in Sims 2 when Judges come and look over your house's garden writing upon little note pads and wearing Business Attire with Green Sashes and Boutonnieres. I think they should all be elders.
