There should be a more realistic pregnancy pack for the sims 4 pregnancy. Have them get ultrasounds done and checkups. Find out what gender of the baby is through an ultrasound. There is a mod for it but why not a pack. Also have more interactions with the newborn. Carry them around, have strollers, swings and a bouncy seat. Not have the newborn lay in the bassinet all the time
@Simiguy while it would be nice to have pregnant Sims get check ups and ultra sounds (and also a baby shower!), those functions are tied to a hospital/doctor office, and that would be tied to the Get to Work EP which is our only way to have a doctor or go to a hospital. I don't think the Sims team has any plans for adding to the Get to Work EP in the future, so it is unlikely that the features you mentioned would be added to the game, though it would be nice!
As for the interactions with the newborns, they already recently added to what can be done with babies when they added the Infant lifestage. This was to add a lot of missing interactions that people wanted with babies and separated the category of Babies into Newborns and Infants. The newborn lifestage is meant to be a quick lifestage where the newborn only eats and sleeps and can be comforted. You can always age the newborn up to get to the more involved Infant lifestage. 🥰
I would love more pregnancy gameplay like doctor check ups, and finding out gender, ultrasound, have Sims take vitamins so the needs aren't all over the place. Get a few days off work instead of just one day or adjust to the players game needs of how much the parents take off work like family leave or whatever. Also prepare for baby.
Now with newborn they are just like that, that why we have infants they are the better babies simmers asked for, strollers are needed especially with infants and toddlers especially toddlers because they walk slow.
