I'm under the impression that when changing a diaper with a diaper pail present that the diaper will automatically go into the diaper pail. When changing the newborn from the bassinette with a diaper pail present (see attached photo), the diaper landed straight on the floor. After filling out the above information, I wonder if this is not a bug and that diapers only go into the pail when using the changing table. However, in the case of a newborn in a bassinette, the newborn cannot use the changing table. Is it not possible to have the diapers go directly into the diaper pail with a newborn diaper change?
- crinrict3 years agoHero+@jmcdan02 I do think you need to use the changing table because you slot the trash to the table, so it kinda makes it one items.

I had fun reading through the various responses on this thread. I had not tried cloth diapers with the two infants on my lot, and I didn't realize the slot next to the changing table didn't need the diaper bucket but could use a trash can! So, I just ran a few experiments and found several improvements for me, according to your recommendations on this thread:
- I first removed the diaper pail from the slot attached to my changing table and slotted in a NanoCan. I LOVE the NanoCan. No more emptying the diaper pail trash, and money back for every diaper. Unfortunately that only worked if they changed the diaper at the table rather than tossing them in the air in place, but definitely a time and money saver.
- I also added the washer/dryer to the lot, and did the trick where you add laundry baskets only in the laundry room (I did two side-by-side ones right next to the washer). Then I changed the babies' diapers to cloth. I found that if a household sim changed the diaper at the changing table, they tossed it over their shoulder and it disappeared. When the hampers were empty I didn't see dirty clothes appear in them following that animation directly, but that may have been a delay or because I just added the cloth diapers, and with many sims in the household it gets filled by other actions, so I don't want to state an association for sure. Anyway, when they tossed the dirty cloth diaper over their shoulder I didn't see it appear anywhere else (as in on the floor) like with the disposable diapers.
- I did notice that when the butler changed either type of diaper (cloth or disposable) I didn't see a toss animation, and I didn't see a dirty diaper on the floor. Same thing with the bottle when he feeds the infant (no dirty bottle on the floor). I'm assuming maybe it goes in his inventory?
Anyway, thank you all for the ideas. I wish I had added cloth diapers &/or slotted the NanoCan to my changing table long ago in this household! 🙌
