Gonna be putting this here and I'm sure most simmers know this by now, but another Reward Event will be starting on December 16, the so called 'Deck the Palms' Event, so obviously they're still going with these in-your-face events that can't be turned off (without going into offline mode). I literally have no faith in EA or The Sims Team anymore, regardless of what they say.
Also, as of today, December 11, 2025, I will be starting my true last Sims 4 project and going to December 14 the latest, hoping to finish strong and avoid having another event shoved in my face 24/7, because I'm no longer interested in having to deal with these 'chore charts' anymore. Though, I will say that playing The Sims 4 wasn't all for nothing, as I did use it for a good purpose, and I took around 180,000 screenshots (yes, I really did take this many screenshots), which will be preserved/archived. But once my last project is done, it will be The Sims 2, The Sims 3, and MySims from now on.
But like other people said, there's absolutely no reason why the events should not have an option to turn them off, and the excuse for not giving an option to turn them off is very weak, and no other life simulator game I know forces these FOMO events on players, maybe with the exception of mobile games, but I personally wouldn't count these. Personally, because of these events, I can't even call The Sims 4 a life simulator anymore, and now I look at it as a chore simulator. Even though I don't plan on getting any of the new life simulation games, I bet inZoi and Paralives are smart enough not to put FOMO events in their games, as it would have the same problem as The Sims 4.
