[Old] Do old premades looks/genetics bother you?

Yes, it bothers me very much, to the point where I use fan creations instead of the official Maxis sims whenever I need an old premade. I always squee a little when I find an especially faithful recreation of old sims on the gallery. For example few people remember Trent Traveller's actual Lifetime Wish of becoming a Criminal Mastermind.

It's not just the sims' looks, also their traits. I often feel the devs didn't bother reading their own sims' biographys and just go for stereotypes. For example Original Angela has few Neat points (don't remember the actual number), but suddenly she is Neat in Sims 4. Her Foodie trait I can see, seeing that she was the only household member who could cook in Sims 2. But she also loved the sea and fishing and should be Child of the Ocean or Loves the Outdoors instead of Good. Angela was good in the eyes of the public only, in the picture the family tried to uphold to the public. Internally she was as conflicted and troubled as Lilith, she only dealt with it differently.

The fact that they look a little different doesn't bother me. I can excuse that because of different art style from game to game. What bothers me is the whole alternate time line thing. I don't like that they aren't really the sims that they used to be anymore. The stories and personalities aren't the same and that I don't like.

I don't play them, they died a long time ago. The story has moved on many generations.

Bella in Sims 4 is the only Bella I like. She looks so much better than in 3 (let's face it, all Sims 3 Sims are hideous) and well.. the Graphics in 1 didn't let you actually make unique faces. She's Generic Woman Face #2. In two? Still not as good as in 4.

As for skin tone? What? She's latina. That skin tone is perfect.

I never much play with pre-made sim. Most get deleted and replaced with my own cas creations anyway.

her skintone in ts1 and 2 used to be darker and then i think during ts3 it was made lighter for reason or another and ts4 is like just shade or 2 off from the original which is odd o_o

+ I actually liked her face being somewhat generic especially for ts2 where we would have hula zombies etc that looked similar to bella but were not bella and it caused all sorts of fun conspiracy theories :joy:

we also had bella statues etc weird thingies that just don't go with new bella anymore even if we had them again :<

Yeah they did make her skin tone too light and it is the lightest in the Sims 4 as you can see in the last link. I do agree about the Sims 3 one looking off as well. Whatever happened to her brother Michael Bachelor too?

Also interesting story about the Sims 3 lore, "Worlds in The Sims 3 are believed to be placed in different parts of the main timeline, and it has since been confirmed by SimGuruSarah that the Bella Goth in Lunar Lakes graveyard is the same Bella from Pleasantview and Strangetown. Thus by the time of Lunar Lakes, Bella is dead. Her appearance (with her yellow hair, gaunt face and greenish skin) is very different in this town than in previous towns, but it is in line with other deceased Sims buried in the Lunar Lakes cemetery. How or when she got to Lunar Lakes remains unconfirmed, as is whether or not she ever reunited with her family after her alien abduction."

It has always bothered me. If they are not deleted from my save file I immediately give them all make overs. It doesn't bother me that they don't look like their former selves I just don't like the way they look.

I usually end up redoing the Sims 2 sims and giving them traits that fit them better too. I also change Katrina's name back to what it is supposed to be. Bugs me that there seemed to be no effort to make them look like they did or have the right traits/personality (not that we actually have personality in Sims 4).

I delete most of them (They are fake memories of better times). Goths and Vlad are the first to go. They do not mean anything in Sims 4. They are just made random Sims with no actual story or personality... Same as any random generated Sim. The only story they have are in past games... memories of better days for the Sims franchise.

I do not even replace them, the game just randomly throws in sims anyways.. I tried replacing them with my own, but what is the point, they are all the same regardless.. So I just play my Sim and avoid all other sims in game the best I can.
