Pack Idea: On the Move or Getting Around (Transportation)

I liked that we were able to have cars/vehicles in Sims3. I thought it was a bit weird to have a relationship with a vehicle, but I do understand forming an attachment to a vehicle. I have my truck named.

We do have some bicycles, but I'd like even more modes of transportation and more accessories related to them.

First would be the vehicles themselves-- from more bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, mopeds, unicycles, tricycles, vespa, motorcycles, motorcycle with sidecar, 3-wheeled bicycle, 3-wheeled mini car, skateboards, hoverboards, rollerskates, rollerblades, etc to firetrucks, ambulances, hearses, 18-wheelers, buses, campers, etc. Horse drawn carriages, wagons, etc for off-the-grid stuff would be cool too. Some caravan trailers that can double as homes-- allowing for trailer parks. Maybe even some full RVs that can be parked at an RV/trailer park would be nice. Let's not forget 4-wheelers/ATVs and golf carts. Maybe even flying or hovering cars could be included.

Of course this would need more clutter relating to the objects. More garage items: spare wheels, tools, storage racks for bikes, parking spaces, more garage doors (both deco and functional), ramps to enter garages or a way to have a ground level garage connected to a house that is higher up, 2-story garage doors (as well as some 2-story doors, gates, and fences).

As for specific vehicles, I'd love a Bowden Spacelander for a bike.

I'd also love a Volvo Amazon P130 sedan circa 1965. The 2 door version and 4-door versions would be nice.

Volvo Estate 122S

I have more ideas but don't want to post too much.

Anyone have suggestions/wishlist?

  • I miss the Vespa scooter from TS3 and all the functional cars from TS2. A golf cart would be cute, but we need golf for that. As for flying vehicles, I think helicopters and flying saucers should be pretty easy to add.

  • suceress there's quite a bit of vehicle related clutter, car parts, vehicles and trailers in debug with the cheats bb.showhiddenobjects and bb.showliveeditobjects and I've made some pretty good garages with some. But I think most players would like more items and in particular more functional items and vehicles.

To make garage ramps you can use a piece of roofing and place it on the ground instead, at the level of the foundation or platform. I use the gravel roof to blend it with a gravel drive. For garage doors I use the ones from City Living but I'd like more and to be able to have different colours.

That bike is so cool by the way!

crocobaura have you tried making a helipad with the toy helicopter blown up to life size? It looks really impressive on the roof of San Myshuno penthouses!

The toy vehicles don't have good textures on them and look pixelated when blown up to life size.  But it would be nice for sims to be able to actually use these vehicles, not just display them for looks.

  • Same as you the mopeds, the mobility scooter for the elderly, scooters for the kids, tricycles for the toddlers, motorcycles, Vespas.

Cars Hybrid and Electric Cars, Muscle Cars, Classic Cars, Luxury Cars, Forgein Cars, Chop Shop Cars, Racing Cars.

Also I would like to see buses, taxis, school bus, ice cream truck, mail truck stop and deliver mail to the houses in the neighborhood, maid vehicle, repair man vehicle,  nanny vechile or possibly getting dropped off and picked up. Delivery vehicle.

    Thanks for that info!

I'm a bit obsessed with the Bowden Spacelander bike. Prototype was made in 1947 by Benjamin Bowden. The modified version went into production in the 1960s. It was fiberglass frame so they were more fragile, but they looked so cool and no one has quite made the same look since. I can't even ride a bike, but I love the look of that bike. If we actually had bike lanes or safe places to ride bikes here, practically I'd want a 3-wheeled one with some storage so I could carry stuff. Ok, I know this is a toy but you get the general idea.

Wheelchairs and mobility scooters would also be good. No need for golf for golf carts though. No golf courses in my area but the former mayor changed the city ordinances to allow himself to buzz around town in a golf cart getting in the way of traffic and generally being a nuisance.
