Re: Disable Festival Notifactions

@3Rosez I totally agree and this is actually making me annoyed of every notification. I'm really sad since there's lots of threads suggesting this for so long but we got nothing yet...

  • I agree! Especially when I get high school notifications on a non high school household. The incessant Cupid's Corner ads are bothering me too and they are every day along with Thriftea notifications. I'd love to turn them off.

I never minded them at first but the more packs you have, obviously the more you get and it's a lot!

I feel like this request would be solved with the implementation of the updated calendar as requested in another thread. I WOULD LOVE THIS SO MUCH.

On a simpler note, just allowing us to remove the audio associated with the notifications could be a start. Like I already shut off the audio "sting" for mood changes. I'm easily overstimulated with sound, so this was a no brainer. (And yes, sometimes I play with no audio at all because it's just too much.)

    EDIT: Here's the thread I mentioned: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Game-Feedback-Ideas/REQUEST-Calendar-UI-Changes/td-p/13323304

@3Rosez , @thornwill , @simsplayer818 , @LadyAofPineapple  I completely agree! If I have no farm animals or large produce, teens in high school, etc. I don't need all the reminders.  And now with Cupid's Corner, I am aggravated because clearly my Sim knows it exists because she met her husband on the app, and she has the Loyal trait, so why would she want to be reminded of constantly of Cupid's Corner now that she isn't looking anymore?!? 🤦🏻‍♀️😅

@LadyAofPineapple , I enjoy some of the interactions and features of Lovestruck, so I am happy to own it! I also love some of the clothing, hairstyles, and furniture! But the constant notifications have got to go!!!
At least with Discover University, it just reminds you one time that university is available, instead of nagging you about it constantly like cupid's corner! 😅

  • I think it would be great if the Sim could select certain types of festival notifications. Then you could choose, for example: only festivals in the neighborhood, or only competitions, or events for specific age groups, sports events, etc. This way the Sim could make a relevant selection based on interests.

@PugLove888 I'm glad it's a mostly fun experience for you! And yes, I think a one time notif (per household) for each of those things is more than enough.

@Enna2024Juney that is a good idea!  So even if you have teens in the household, maybe none of them like sports, so they would only need the notification for things like the Prom , and not so much the sporting events!

@LadyAofPineapple I did not know you could turn off the mood changes audio. Thank you for this comment. I'm going to have to look this up to turn it off. I have that "Practice makes perfect"
(or something) trait which has Eva in a constant focused or overly focused mood...so....the focused mood audio continuously goes off when it swaps. I too have a sensory issue with the music and get overstimulated sometimes. When I get overstimulated I have to turn off the audio as well.

@PugLove888 So the game triggered this, not me. I had Eva on the Cupid Corners app while on the side I was doing the Reaper Event, leveling up medium skill and starting the journey with the crystals. Along the way through this journey, Eva had an AMAZING compatibility with Guidry. LOL.

At first, I ignored it and kept letting the love bar go down. Then while I was hunting around my haunted lot to seek out any cursed stuff, or searching for crystals around her house lot, they really can't keep away from each other. I disabled Cupids Corner and now Eva and Guidry are in a happy-yet odd-relationship with each other. Love can be found in the most unexpected circumstances....

That Social app, from High school years...bunny something...I disable now and then. I like that its an easy social boost to gain friends, but the notifications drive me nuts because its litterally every couple sim hours. You get that puslating orange dot at the bottom. Sometimes it drives me nuts. Works well when I do want to be everyones friend, but for the love of freezer bunnies...the noise...

@PugLove888This. This right here. I want to choose what festivals I want to know that are coming up. I love the University notifaction is one time deal, and its an easy shrug off.  I'm a storyteller so each sim has its own story. (like Eva I stated ^) She lives in a haunted lot, wishing to learn more of the occult lifestyles. She is friends with Kristopher, Grim, and is getting to know Morgyn, she is curious. In no way in this story does she have interest in Farm festivals, prom, or Geekcon. Spice festival might be worthwhile because she loves to cook and sell pizzas. mmm...

Whereas another story i.e. a cottage lifestyle with a horse, that sime may be interested in the Bagley festivals. Speaking of which, I find it incredibly odd, (not to toss in fuel to the fire here-no pun intended) there isn't any notifications for the festivals in Sulini. They have their fire festivals, BBQ, and if completely cleaning the world the sea turtle event. I haven't seen the sea turtles yet but that was because I was on that too-many-ideas syndrome when I played that story.

@3Rosez Interesting about Eva and Guidry! You never know where Sim love will strike! 🤣
Yeah, Social Bunny from HSY is annoying.  I ignore it unless I'm actively playing teens .  It is still annoying even then!

Yes! just like in real life, I don't have a child in high school so I don't get notifications of all my local high school's activities, so why should my Sims have to suffer this?!? 😅

The Spice Festival is my absolute favorite! But I love spicy foods in real life!  I almost never send my Sims to Geekcon anymore unless they are really Geeky.  The food there is boring and there is no new recipes for my Sims to learn, plus I used to send them all the time until Seasons made the outdoor nature of Geekcon no fun because all the electronics would break in the rain. If the Devs have fixed this, I don't know -- I just got used to not going. 😢

I agree that it is strange we don't get notifications for the Sulani festivals, but this might be an intentional design, possibly to reflect the more laid-back lifestyle that island life provides! 🤔🥰
