Re: Feedback: Shopping Cart Icon and main menu ads

@PandoraTO I’m on Origin and just had the cart show up. The little flashing light is extremely distracting.

Well, that's disturbing.

I don't even install an SDX drop without finding out first what it is. Now, this situation makes me think maybe patch notes can no longer be trusted. If they included something hidden in a patch this time without telling us, who's to say they won't do it again? They need to either confirm that's what they did, or if it's not, explain to us what happened here.

@PandoraTO I've noticed a few things lately that I swore used to be different, but no mention of them in patch notes (I read these every release). I don't know why some things are listed, and others seem not to be. I'd be saddened if this cart issue is one of those things, especially after hearing our requests and solid reasons why it would be better to remove it.

@PandoraTOI guess I just assumed the code for the button was added to all games with the 2/27 update that did include it in the patch notes, but that some of us were lucky enough to have extra code to still have it hidden temporarily in a timed roll-out for testing purposes. So when it did show up, I thought that timer on the hide-the-cart had now expired. I didn't notice any updates or SDX drops between the last time I opened the game without the cart and the first time it showed up, though I suppose I can't be 100% sure there wasn't one in the background that I missed.

So. They don't even bother answering now.

Hey! Is anyone from EA listening?

I've no idea if Cade is still monitoring this thread, but I hope something comes of it.

Pretty sure shiny objects have distracted the masses once again. For me, I have decided that even if I update my game, I'm not buying anything else (I own everything but one kit and the newest stuff pack. I've also purchased packs for family as gifts.). Maybe if I once again feel appreciated as a consumer I'll come back, but honestly, I have more brains than money so I'll just save what I have to spend on things I want more. 😉

I am still sad about this though.

I played online today for the first time in a while so that I could get the latest SDX drop… and as I expected, the shopping trolley finally made its appearance in my game. I immediately quit and downloaded a mod to remove it.

I really didn’t want to have to use mods for this — this is the only mod I have. But that trolley has no justification for being in the game UI, and if EA won’t remove it, or at the very least give us the option to choose whether we have it or not, then we have to look to modders for help.

@FreddyFox1234 I play offline too and I got also the SDX drop without going online in the ea app. I decided to not download anything until they remove this shopping 🛒

@GiardiniDiMarzo same happened to me. What’s the sense of being offline when SDX stuff gets still forced on us while offline! I didn’t want it.

@LuvMySimzThat shouldn't be happening with Automatically Download unchecked in Game Options>Sims Delivery so I'd raise that as a technical issue on the appropriate technical issues thread for your platform if it continues to be an issue for you.

@simsplayer818 but it did which doesn't really surprise me. EA does what they want and care less about their customers. Reporting makes no sence as proved in the past many times. Best example is the shopping cart that they forced even on offline players.
