Re: Sims 5 - Speculations & Ideas

While the open world in TS3 was great in many respects, it was troublesome in others!  For example, having a large open world would make the game run slower and slower as time went on especially if you had all the Expansions and Stuff Packs.  Also, you would go to a venue at night and no one would be around at that venue and you would have to search the whole Sim world to find other Sims to interact with or complete tasks and wants.  TS4 tried to combine what worked for TS2 and TS3 to give us something in between with semi-open neighborhoods, but now everyone wants TS3-style open worlds. But if we were to get those again, most people would complain how the game grinds to a halt!

Personally, my favorite thing from TS3 wasn't the open world, it was the Color/Pattern Wheel ❤️ but I had so many pre-saved patterns that it took forever to load! 😢 This really bogged down my game.  It was like eating dessert all the time; I really wanted it, but regretted indulging in it! 👿 LOL 😳🤭😃

I appreciate EA trying to solve these problems and think they came up with a pretty good compromise, but it is impossible for them to please everybody!  (For example, I can live without the Color Wheel if they would just put more choices of color for each item.  Some items don't have a green or red or whatever and it is hard to match! )

I am curious as to what they would do with TS5!  😇

If there was a way that they could combine the sims 2, 3 and gta I think that would be cool. They kinda sorta did that in the sims 3 but still.

I would like to see terraforming as an option. Bring back split levels and include curved staircases. Please bring back the color wheel. Sometimes I want more than what the game offers, and not everyone knows how to edit items as cc, so I would like to see custom colors and patterns as an option in game. Also I’d love to be able to build a custom world like sim city style. Make your own roads shops and clubs. Place lots wherever you want them. I’d like to see more bay windows or window seats and nooks. Also, I’d love to be able to download cc directly from the gallery. Lastly, please please please bring back cars and garages!!!

If a Sims 5 was an option at some point in the future, it would be cool have an open world again, yes there are issues with it slowing the game down but with all the money they make from all the sims games so far, surely that could be invested into better technology to improve that particular problem.

Expansion packs are always going to be there but do they have to be so expensive for what they are in terms of having to patch them frequently.

Also perhaps releasing a TS5 on game console as well as PC at the same time i.e. the release date for both PC and game console would be the same, maybe revenues would increase. There'd by no reason to increase overall price of the game because PS4, x-box and co games are already expensive so just keep them par with the market and the money would flood in.

  • I got really disappointed att The sims 4 for not having an open world. If they fixed that in TS5 I will buy it. But if not they will probably lose me. I have TS4 but do not play it anymore because it is not fun. Right now I heard they will give more energy on the appearance and the graphic of the Sims again just like in TS5. And that makes me sad. If they spend more time on the gameplay it would be amazing. And if they don't have that many expacks it would be more fun too. Just irritating how they try to make so much money by cutting the expansions into small packs to make us buy more.

So I am really hoping for an open world. More than nicer sims. The looks are great right now. It does not need any more fixing. Just fix the gameplay. I am really bummed about it. xD

The thing is that a lot of the other players want to try to have the game as life like as possible and so get the sims to the point of true gradual aging since like it or not Sims is supposed to be a simulation of a human beings daily life and lifespan. Which each game gets closer and closer to the whole point of the game. In order to better the gradual aging of the sims they do have to spend more time and energy on the sims in order to help them seem as life like as part of. And then they can improve the game play itself by balancing out the amount of stuff and gameplay that are focused for the younger generations of the Sims characters with the stuff and gameplay that are focused on the older generations of the Sims characters.
