TIP! Pause game and queue up opening packets. Unpause for one or two seconds all will be opened. Repeat. It takes a couple of minutes to clear an entire room that way.
- @PugLove888 I cancelled Harvestfest for that reason, plus a few of the gnomes started fires...and that was not cool! I do not like gnomes, in fact my childhood bestie next door knows this and buys them to annoy me. (So I grab them when she's not looking and send her notes saying "we have your gnome"). 👎
But with the seed packets it complicates things because you can't queue them properly. It's Open, wait, open, wait. So it really does get time consuming. That's why I started just adding equal batches of each type to the new lots so they can queue opening one from each batch, if that makes sense. By the time they've started opening them all I can go back to the first batch and queue the next one. I do the same with holiday crackers.
I'm playing my legacy Super Sims right now and they're collecting just about everything in the game. So I've had a lot of stuff to open! - PugLove8882 years agoHero (Retired)
@Destiny62613 and @simsplayer818 I agree!!! Things got especially bad with Seasons when soooo many new plants were added to the game, and also if you participated in the Harvest Fest Gnome activity, they would spew tons of seed packets (which I don't mind as I usually have gardens on most of my lots, and it is a good way of getting the rarer plants!). But the problem was that when they would leave so many seed packets behind, it took forever to open them all! 😖😓
@Destiny62613 added my Me Too. I absolutely agree with you. I often add seed packets to new houses from build mode in Freebuild before Sims move in, that way it doesn't matter what their skill level is. It takes a while to open them all once they've been added to their inventory.
I'd also really like to see this for other items too, like time capsules, fossils, voidcritters, geodes and holiday crackers. I find that the options move around (I'm on Xbox) and when I'm opening a few things quickly I keep hitting "Add to Favourites" which gets right on my last nerve.
Great idea!
