Sim cancel computer interactions/ Only use while already sitting

I have been dealing with this for a bit too and until I saw your post, did I realize anyone else is having this problem. But I have alot of mods, so I assumed it was a mod. Then I took everything out and played it vanilla and still are experiencing it. So I do not think it is a mod. 

Can either of you test with mods off and move objects off? Make sure the computer and chair are snapped to the desk correctly and there’s nothing else around them. Do sims still refuse to sit down?

(I know there was an issue a while ago with an update that caused cc desks/chairs to do this - Sims 4 Studio released a batch fix.)

do you have a lot of clutter on your desk ? That will usually cause this.

THANK YOU!!! That is what is doing it on mine! I have lamps, plants, etc. on them and tend to fill the desk as much as possible. Thanks for the tip!

I find this happens when I use normal dining chairs at the desk with the computer. Change the chair to a dedicated desk chair and the problem might go away. Since I'm stubborn and don't like to be forced to change things, I usually just click on the chair first. 

On the upside, the sims are a lot less obsessed with the computer that way...
