I went to adopt a pet and I always had someone come to my home with the pet{s} to adopt and now they just come to the home without the pets. is there something I'm missing. they stay forever and I never get my pet!

I don't use mods or anything. also now when I go to adopt a pet they come over and I hit adopt and they pick up pet but nothing happens and after a few tries they leave and take the pets with them
If you use mods/cc,try moving the whole mods folder to another place, delete the localthumbcache.package and then test to see if the issue remains without mods/cc there.
